Premium MemberA Man More Patrician Than Not

A man, more patrician than not,
Of folly, he had quite a lot.
Stentorian voice,
But words of poor choice,
A sot, not a yacht, had he bought.

Rumpel Still's kin are a strange lot
With names not easily forgot
But he was kept asleep
By his cousin, the creep
Moonshine Still was the guilty sot

Rumpel had walked deep in the wood
Where Moon was with bros in the hood
Distilling white lightning
The scene was frightning
They drugged Rumpel more than they should

Moon left him leaning 'gainst a tree
Rump's whereabouts, a mystery
By now you realize
I have mixed up two guys
Rip Van Winkle's and Rump's his'try

Rip slept for years in the Catskills
Rump drugged for finding Moon's stills
Rip was greedy for gold
Rump was growing tree mold
Twisted fairytales of ill will

hmmmm oh wait... that's still twisted!!

Where were you

Grandma gave rugrat a gift,
Into the toy box I did lift,
It was so plastique,
Not quite fantastique,
Grandma, Grandma, where were you,
When I stepped on Lego at 4:32?
Foul language approached,
On my bare foot it encroached,
Sheer hell, granny, thank you not,
No wonder I am now a sot!

Last nights trousers

Foggy monday
Mourning sunday
Saturday blackout
Death by boozing Friday bruiser
Thursdays web of mid-week loser
Wednesday filled with pills and shots
Drink it up with Tuesdays lot
Foggy Monday finds its calling
In a sweaty sot on the ground, crawling

Lousy Crocodile Tears Just Let Them Fall

I wrote you and you answered me not
I sent you all my love, and all I got
Your beauty fantastic but ears are not
Went to a bar and got drunk as a sot
Dawn marched in, my mind cleared right up
I then drank my coffee from golden cup
No, I did not forget your pretty face
My dear, your character is a disgrace
Selfish is certainly your middle name
My dear love and romance is not a game
Pure truth and light is in its vital core
Truth is, I do not love you anymore
Lousy crocodile tears just let them fall
I am happy now dancing down the hall
This is my last note, so please cry some more
Man am I, but sorry you are a who**

Robert J. Lindley. 16 verse sonnet
NOV. 11TH 1971 , written at age 17..

Note.
Adios, please do not write me or call
We are done, you cheated and that is all.

Note:
Stop calling my mother, she has no way to make me see you anymore.

Premium MemberAi My I

Right after lunch
I had a hunch
I’ll place some words
Into a bunch

Using rhymes
Both far and near
In whispered voices
None can hear

I’d weave them thru
Harsh sand and silt
Publish them
In mockish guilt

A subtle tear
Of onion skin
I cried once
I won’t again

The words now do
A conga dance
Some with – and without
Wearing pants

The muse is drinking
Silly sot
Upstaged by Jerden’s
Poet bot

Alas the warriors
Long past
Aren’t here to kick
It’s AI A..

The Snake and the Charmer

He has made his own reed gourd pipe
To play on and allure his captive -
The stray serpent, in his basket inactive ,
And rendered a fangless, servile type .

Being a lazy sot, gets his drink
Displaying the hooded creature apt ;
And blows odd tunes with no tact ,
Nor ever allows the coil to jink .

Motley onlookers dole out a coin ;
They know not why : fear or taboo,
Or even feeling heavy with ado
And  he leaves , having drunkards to join ;

Loyal or helpless the selfless reptile
Ever returns to it's bamboo cell,
Despite the strain or a nearby dell ;
Thralldom corrodes the entity all the while.

Fire Engine

Fire-engine
Now that it is autumn going towards winter
I often think about morbid things to avert this
I think of what I liked as a child.
The sound of the fire engine rushing through
the town; ran after it and felt heroic.
Often the fire was far away when I got there
it was too late; the fire had been small
rubbish burning in junkyard sot on a wall.
Firemen, rolling up their hoses, they
were called that, now they are firefighters
to make it more inclusive, mind you, I have
never seen a female among them, I knew
there were women at the fire-house.
I went there to have mother’s kitchen knives
sharped; they deftly wrote on typewriters.
I was going to be a fireman, they looked so
tall and tough, spitting manly.
Alas, a few years down the line, they grew smaller.

The Last of the Axioms
David J Walker

The new eternal equinox
Settles on the turn of the tide
The moon charts a path
In celestial math
Searching for places to hide

Noon makes its propitious appearance
Marking meridian measure
Another day
	For the passions play
To display its cursive displeasure

How fast the past streaks past us
How quickly forgotten stray thought
The soon days dawn
	Lay just beyond
The last of the axioms sot

In Christ
     In Christ,I live
His kingdom lives within;
  blind once
  now,I see,
sin,that He could see.

Sorrow-filled
each day,I miss the mark,
wander from the path,
  in ashes,soiled,I lie;
  to Him alone
  my cry.

     In Christ
     In Christ,I live,
elsewhere..I would die.

A reflection
o youth,where did you go
those yesterdays,still glow
pure white,as virgin snow

whose face is this I see,
is this really me;
where,where did youth flee

inside,still seems bran new
my youthful outlook,stays
albeit,passing days

a future lies ahead
beyond the grave,He said
the narrow path,to tread

in a resurrected body,new
for what I did for you

What if you opened that door
when you heard His voice
and made this choice
What lies in store?

After He enters in
and forgives your sin
what lies in store,
after you open that door?

New life now,and then,
when we begin again;
Truth sets us free,
His perspective to see

Placed as a son and co-heir..
open that door ..if you dare

inspired by Rev 3:20
