Christmas Time Is Different

CHRISTMAS TIME IS DIFFERENT

Christmas time is different, it now comes twice a year
More time for celebration, with family that is near
We’ve created another life style, in our golden years
Fitting in some southern seniors, as we’re shifting gears

We’ll gather in October, with our loved ones in the north
Then avoid the hustle and bustle, of travel back and forth
So we’ll be in Arizona, when Santa comes to call
Basking in the sunshine and dancing in the hall

We’ll be thinking of our family, freezing in the snow
Slippin’ and a slidin’, everywhere they go
We’ll check them out on facetime, to make sure nothing’s wrong
And join them in a chorus, of their favorite Christmas song

Tell us that you’ll miss us, but that won’t make us stay
We’ll see you in the springtime, not that far away
Or come to Arizona and we’ll show you why we’re here
You can join us in our happy hour and share our Christmas cheer

Snowbird Sipping

A Florida girl's thighs are so strong
She can squeeze orange juice all day long
But you will get more juice
If you give her a goose
Any day she's not wearing a thong

Snowbird, Snowbird

SNOWBIRD, SNOWBIRD
WHAT HAVE YOU HEARD?

HAVE YOU HEARD, THAT YOU ARE THE LAST OF YOUR KIND
I HOPE YOU DON'T LOSE YOUR MIND.

SNOWBIRD, SNOWBIRD, HAVEN'T YOU HEARD,
THAT YOU ARE THE LAST BIRD? FOR AFTER YOU,
THAT'LL BE NO MORE OF YOU IN SINGAPORE.

("AND THE BIRD SAID")
NO MORE!.... OF ME?
AND I SAID YES OF COURSE, NO MORE OF YOU.

SO, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SCORE; OR TO SNORE GALORE. LOL
FOR YOU SNOWBIRD WON'T BE NO MORE, IN SINGAPORE.

SNOWBIRD VARIATIONS

chirping merrily
black midst an awful whiteness
fat snowbirds seeding

once in a while
a twiggy branch comes alive
snowbird fluffing

lazy winter’s watch
overcoming tedium
suddenly – snowbirds

a beautiful frost
flaming red against the snow
winter cardinal

the frost coated limbs
winter’s cold magical scene
blackbirds brush the sky

Sinister Snowbird.

One final blast of frigid wind leaving one last reapers' kiss.
La femme fatale bids dour adieu to fast fading verdant bliss.
She snaps her teeth like silver shears in cold calculating lips.
She slips her burnished bits of bone through Borgia fingertips.
La femme fatale bids dour adieu to fast fading verdant bliss.
Forlorn fields lie lifeless now, sweet skin scored graveyard brown.
She slips her burnished bits of bone through Borgia fingertips.
She will cover with a liquid shroud, trimmed ends in frosty down.
Forlorn fields lie lifeless now, sweet skin scored graveyard brown.
She snaps her teeth like silver shears in cold calculating lips.
She will cover with a liquid shroud, trimmed ends in frosty down.
One final blast of frigid wind leaving one last reapers' kiss.

Snowbird

Snowbird

Time to sit and ponder life is gone,
Age does pass too swiftly by, vanished
Into what was once a vision thus prolonged
In the ripple of a stream so still;
And well would seem our life’s vestige
No more and no less then we would deserve
But that we could have another day, or maybe two...
Alas this saddened life’s repose

For in memory soft and ever still
A snowbird long to the wind,
As the dream once held inside
That is now so swiftly gone;
Yet oh the mortal word would seem
From our own souls a dream,
It was the grass born of sky so blue
That now lays hidden beneath the snow

Thence would come in time the spring
And with it bring the storms,
In an early morning soft and still
Came those howling winds;
Still from the uproar hear a far off call
I think 'twas of a snowbird
In the eyes to soar the clear blue heavens
To the ear its gentle song
