What To Love Means

To love means:
To be happy for this person
No pretensions, no malice
To share energy with her
To be together or not
Is a matter of Destiny and Time.

To love is without
Any disappointments
No snots and whistles
Believing in the one you love
Not building a cage
Of manipulations around her.

Until you feel freedom
You will not understand Love
You will enslave the objects
Of your Love as before:
Impose, teach, limit
Insult, alter, accuse
And to suffer, to suffer more.

Premium MemberQuacks Like A Duck

I've written about chickens with big fat legs
Told of eating my way through the fridge
My psychiatrist says I'm really quite normal
Though I feel unbalanced, a smidge

I've heard of a place, can't remember where
They can treat an affliction like mine
Problem is though, it means a lobotomy
Sends a quake up and down my spine

Don't wanna be mumbling naughty verses
As I wander the streets in my socks
Or talking about inappropriate subjects
Like armpits, halitosis or snots

One reviewer said I was absolute bonkers
But still sings along with my songs
Seems like she might have the same affliction
Methinks both of our mind's long gone

The bottom line to all this nonsense is
Not much can be done so I'm stuck
Wearing this crown of a silly old jester
And quacking all day like a duck

Premium MemberOver the Pill

Red one
Blue one
Old on
New one
Ah heck
Side effects
I think I am
Due one

They’ll flatten
Or fatten
Always been
In Latin
Or tongue twistish
Latinglish
To patent
A statin

But I’ve had my fill
And summoned the will
To say bye to the ill
Coz I’m over the pill

There were lots
Of drug shots
That I got
For clots
And sun spots
To slow snots
And fix rots
As a tot

I shopped ‘em
And stocked ‘em
Then popped ‘em
Or swapped ‘em
I ravaged
And damaged
Til a salvage
Was managed

Lived in sin
To my kin’s
Own chagrin
I was lost
And was tossed
‘Til therein
Bought low cost
Vitamins

I’ve shaken
The achin’
Forsaken
The fakin’
Nor more need
Of needles
As I’m free
Of evils

I’m not yet over the hill
But have had more than my fill
And I at last, have the will
To be so, over the pill

Premium MemberImps and Elves

Elves and imps are surrounding the earthy cottage now.
She is made of mushrooms, moss, and spiders that bow.
Who made this creation? Who is the designer? She is a wow!
One of the imps stepped on a sharp twig and yelled “ow! ow! ow!”

Don’t be a baby the tallest elf king declared nice and loud.
He was arrogant and persnickety, pompous and proud.
Let’s turn on the elves! Yelled an imp in the crowd.
No way this influenced these enchanted elves to be cowed.

The elves rushed the imps and tied them into tight knots.
Door to cottage opened. Someone yelled “Don’t be snots!”
It was a mermaid faerie from the land of the ocean of lot.
Do you want to see inside my lovely abode or not?

Premium MemberLittle Dot Comic

When I was a child we had comics that featured Little Dot
She was full of good intentions, and had a smile well taught
Her room, bicycle, pets, and curtains were all polka dots.
She has way too many circles, said some surly unknown snots.

But the rest of us were intrigued, we loved these circles round.
Her comic book pages showed polka dots in the sky and on the ground.
Little Dot’s signature dots influenced our fashions and our shoes.
Polka dots on ever comic book page in greens, yellows, reds and blues.

Delete Fear and Dance
                 (Ode to Joy)

Many fear-mongers met at Marseilles!
To make sure all nations shook in dismay.
They used Covid for their piece de resistance display.
Schools, shops, towns all closed down.
A bunch of morons masked us, like idiot clowns.
We fools bought it all, and so now everyone frowns!

Sane people knew the score, they were not buying it anymore.
Tyrants were jailed behind doors, when people thankfully knew the score.
Grandparents are not left alone to rot.
We had enough of Fauci, masks, vaccines and elected snots.
People lived normally as before.
Masks became an international joke.
Just like those life killers from Marseilles~ top idiot pokes!

They even used Covid to ruin one national election?
But truth overcame, that mucked up idiotic, demented selection!
The Land of Dominion shall never be in the land of the free.
Health, happiness, hope was their pleasure and ultimate, joyful, destiny!

Morning Sounds
by M. Griswold
06212000

I awake in the morning to all kinds of sounds.
First of which is me, snoring profound.
Next usually comes a burp and a fart ,
but generally speaking, I can't tell them apart.

Then comes the alarm clock ringing at me,
causing screams of confusion momentarily.
Banging frantically in the half darkened dawn,
I cuss to put an end to its clanging loud gong.

My other half rolls over and groans,
then lets out a big fart all of her own.
Sniffing in self violation she painfully moans.
God help the poor fella that shares her home.

A symphony of flushing can soon be heard
as we each take our turns at depositing turds.
Followed closely by snorting and hacking
as we clear our nasals of the snots unpacking.

A chorus of gargling, bad breath to be cured.
A shrill sheik or two of reflections mirrored.
Brushing of teeth brings that wash board effect.
Then the spattering of paste in the sink to eject.

After all that audio abuse, we finally arrive at this,
the best morning sound of all, a first morning kiss.
It makes it all worth the torture and horror to ears.
Of all those god awful sounds made over the years.

Home

Very soon I go away,
Very soon I board my plane and go to Sydney,
Very soon I will try heal my pain.
Very soon I will find love for you...
For you leaving me.

Very soon after Sydney I will come to you,
I will come straight to your arms,
Then I will finally be yours for ever.

You promised you wouldn’t ever leave me.
You promised I could keep talking to you.
You promised I am yours and then you left me.

I miss falling asleep holding your arm,
I miss waking up to your kisses,
I miss watching you do your make up,
I miss your parties you threw,
I miss your short dresses,
I miss the way your hair smelled,
I miss how angry you could make me,
I miss just being with you.
I miss laughing so much till snots came
From my nose and you told me to blow my nose.
I miss you.
I miss you.
I love you.
Please come back.
I can’t do this anymore
Because the day you left
You took my air with you.
A part of me is dead
I hear you calling.
I’m coming baby.

Premium MemberA Picker of Note

A banjo picker elite I once used to be,
Now my nose is the favorite choice of me
Don't always enjoy
The pickin' finger it soils
Let alone getting snots on my manly goatee

Tiny Fractures of Death

As the clock ticks on,
the soul
encounters
tiny fractures of death

hairline cracks
seemingly invisible, superficial
yet they run deep

one
      more
          word

one
      more
          look

one
     more
        reason

to
         S h a t t e R

and
nothing
matters
anymore

Nothing.

randomness
balisa
young heart
frog-in-throat

the thought of ... .
the snots phase again
wanting to scream
wanting that dam to break

but forcing it not too,
too much, that the belly of the dragon hurts

and the demons
become unhidden
unmasked
and no, they are not imaginary

just frozen all along
and with the heat of
emotions,
the forced melting of these glaciers
lead to the unraveling
the shifting, actually

of mindsets
and heartaches

this makes no sense
again,
I ramble
just lost
with the thought
of having lost you

all these years

Liverpool

The first smell of rain hitting city walls
Before slipping down into guttery streams
Heavy drops splattering layers of ashes and dirt
Causing clouds to clot in noses of newly wet children
Wet soot snots that run so black memories keep coming back
Like scabs on bare and dirty knees
Or fog enveloping invading nostrils
Condensing eyelids blinding sight
Muffling sound and squeezing light
Hiding the world in the wetness
Of a cloud too heavy to fly
Carrying smells of sea salt and tar
Smoke of smouldering coal fires
Rolls off wet tile rooftops to mingle
With the soapy smell of Monday
