Premium MemberYou should Meet His Mother

twitchy, fidgety, nervous Lee
frightened of you, frightened of me
we are not scary, so how can that be?
you should meet his mother said Meridee

She’s as high strung as a mean high wire
snappish, waspish, angry, a non-hire
jittery, jumpy, nervous, nasty too
Lee’s only role model is his mama Sue

Premium Memberwhat is going on out there

Yowling and howling, snarling and snapping
Came in through a window when my husband was napping
It sounded like a sound off, I was sure a cat would be dead.
My own cat bounced in moments later, his fur stand-up red.

What is going on out there? I asked, for now I heard low growls.
The cats were ready to fight, as snappish as Turkish towels.
Fred dove head-first under the bed and stayed until it was over.
Rolling his eyes about it was my St Bernard named Rover.

Premium MemberDawn Awakes

Autumn's moon truly radiant and playful,
In a stippled and midnight blue hues.

Fragile is the troth with nature.
    Falling, trembling, withered leaves,
      Drift throughout gravel beneath;
Dapple shadow cast across the ground in stillness.

Silence surge as nascent darkness draws.
Snappish breeze, spring up slicing through darkness,
Lays a gentle kiss, and it slowly fades.

Stillness, a breath, the wakeful light of dawn awakes.

Eden Earthed Over

The apple fell already bitten upon,
a mossy soil coated where the tooth-cleaved.
Soon grubs worked their way out
of the pith
creating a teeming mulch.

Adam had fallen asleep again,
in his gut overripe grapes fermented
turning now to drunken snores.

The apple was changing, morphing,
the earth had gone into labor.
This had not happened in paradise before,
this was self-regeneration,
the copulation of dirt with air.

It was the flood of the moon;
Eve squatted. Her body was changing,
tidal rains washed her blood,
travail begot a tillage of arousal.

Her belly swelled,
instinctively Adam built a nest
of straw, green shoots and saliva.

She grew large, gravid, a tad snappish.
she sensed deep in her belly
that this coming birth
would be both sour and dewy,

an innominate delivery for sure
riddled with good and bad seeds,
and she knew not what to call it.

Premium MemberI Knowwhat I Am Doing

I’ve got this! He said in a snappish way, that day.
He was young and eager, with an ego in the way.
The store manager heard, and let it go this time.
He knew the snickering and pointing would be kind of fine.

Bananas fifty six dollars a pound.
This was funny all around.

The women in line were making fun at an enormous rate.
Taking selfies, and snapping up bananas like a Potassium date.
The young eager clerk was going to fix his mistake
But the manager held up his hand and said “let’s wait!”

Bananas fifty six dollars a pound.
Was bringing customers on down!

Other women ran to the store to see the bananas now.
They laughed loud and hard. The joke was a wow.
Do you think you can do something this silly each week? The manager asked.
For this blundering blowhard, it was no enormous task.

Eden Unearthed

The apple fell to earth. It was bitten through
it rolled; mossy soil coated the tooth-cleaved part.
Already grubs were working their way out
of the pith creating a teeming mulch.

Adam had fallen asleep yet again.
the overripe grapes fermenting in his guts
turning to drunken snores.

It was the flood of the moon.
Eve squatted behind a mulberry bush
wishing she were more fair and slim
like the angels in her dreams. Her body was changing,
tidal rains washed her blood
and that travail begot spawning buds,
the tillage of arousal.

The apple was changing, dissolution morphing
into beauty; the earth had gone into labor.
This had not happened in paradise before,
this was self-regeneration, death, and life,
the copulation of dirt with air.

Eve’s belly swelled, growing as round and burnished
as an autumn apple. Instinctively Adam built a nest
of straw, green shoots and saliva.

She grew large, gravid, and snappish,
stamping her feet impatiently;
this birth would be a paradigm of progeny to come,
a dewy innominate offering
quilted from angelic and demon seeds
and she knew not what to call it.

Premium MemberFeel the Winter Coming

Autumn's moon truly radiant and full
in a stippled and rapture blue sailcloth
of inward bliss. How fragile is the troth
in nature's errs that's hurled into the pull?

Alter of light dramatize trembling leaves
drifting throughout on the gravel below.
Shadows cast across the ground in repose.
Silence surge as darkness draws, heed for thieves.

Snappish breeze spring up slicing through darkness.
Wet mist and fever dew glimmer and press
earth's unturned heart yet bizarrely ageless.
Then, gently kiss in soft fading stillness.

Winters day lull in early calm slumber,
veiling life into a frosted wonder.

Premium MemberThe Teacher Who Left Me In 2nd Grade

Her fluorescent personality shone through like a beacon to us.
We all wanted to be close to her, her friend, her everything.
She was our star, and we followed her around like puppies.
No one made us feel any more listened to, or respected.

Her love for us was all-encompassing, she was our light.
When she left us to uplift others, we were devastated,
Thinking she had belonged to us, pondering the why of it,
Not realizing it was time for her to niche out her own life.

We felt abandoned, betrayed, bereft. I remember how angry I was.
She was our beloved second grade teacher and we were in love.
Worst of all, her replacement was snippy, snappish, mean, harsh and super cruel.
This made her ever more beloved; we waited the rest of the year for her to return,
Not believing until the last day of May that she was truly gone.

Premium MemberThe Snappish Teacher

She would complete your sentences
If you were not fast enough,
Some of us began talking faster.
We may not have made sense,
But at least we were not interrupted.

Others gave up completely, choosing
To do other things during her class time.
Weirdly enough, this did not bother
Mrs. Pardoe at all.

She was one of those snappish teachers,
Snapping her fingers at us impatiently,
Answering our questions for us if we
Took a nanosecond too long.
She wasted none of her precious
College educated dendrites on
Listening.

She had the worst class
Management in the school.
Everyone talked about it.
People tried to tell her
That maybe she needed
To listen more, talk less.

But she could not
hear over the snapping
of her fingers, and her
own impatience.

Ambushed I

The deserted pathway
witnessed no patronage
as she wanders and stares all
around the free cage
tripped,halted.....
and she's up again with quite a
strange feeling

sinister wind aggravates her
tension
the dark cloud gave an evil grin
her heart beat imitates the
expeditious bolt
and yet the expendition could
not be aborted

she gradually regains
consciousness
felt a snappish grope
frightful and overwhelming
and there she goes.......

vulnerable and helpless
caged round by the strapping
claws of a male beast
the continuous thrusting of the
phallic object
literally killed her slowly.....

lo and behold
she's been devoured
shattered and helpless
whats next?.......

an ignominy
by spilling
a suicide provoking act
by keeping mute.

The Worst 2 Days Ever, Experienced Monthly

Emotions scuttle through me
Like clouds across a sky
One minute I feel glee
The next I feel I'll die

My face is red and blotchy
My eyes feverishly bright
I know if I saw clearly
My face would be a fright

My hair feels like a birds nest
My memory's shot to hell
My sleep's when conversation's best
Naught could wake me but a fire bell

Guys say they cannot bear us
That we're snappish and we're rude
I know for sure they'd fuss
If THEY had to deal with these moods

The worst is the pain of the belly
Harmless cramps they say?
My abdomen's turned to jelly
Why should we suffer this way?

What a frustrating time we spend
Before our PMSing ends
