She’s not yet a teen but bigger than a bean
and sweeter than Skittles can be.
She dances around like a princess unbound
and means the world to me.
She’s a little erratic and sometimes gives static
to her mother and father, I know,
but when in my sight, an effervescent delight
and pure as a soft winter snow.
The girl is a vessel, a pistil, a petal,
as if born from a vintage rose,
a little Aphrodite while often times flighty
and a queen who doesn’t yet know.
What a shining star she is by far
and will remain my endearing, joyful child,
inside my heart, my head, and mind
with her rejuvenating smile.
I pray someday she reads this page
and remembers me all too well,
as one who smiled because of her
kind heart and magic spell.

Beauty is sweet,
like Skittles,
whether sweet or sour all the flavours in the packet are unique in their own way,
showing despite difference they are all scrumptious
Beauty is sweet,
like Haribo Starmix,
they come full of different shapes and sizes,
some may find others much nicer than the rest,
nonetheless all are delightful
Beauty is sweet,
like Pear drops,
hard to crack,
but give it time,
it should not be rushed and you will appreciate
how greatly satisfying the taste can be,
Beauty is sweet,
like Lindt Chocolate Truffles,
its outer layer is amazing,
but its inner part tastes even more immaculate,
showing although on the outside it is great,
its inner layer is even more of an extraordinary treat
Beauty sure is sweet....

Late night note to self
Skittles will not make you feel
better - sugar lies

Colors of the rainbow, taste so sweet
Chewing fast and slow, crunch and repeat
Opposite of bland, grabbing slowly
Skittles in hand, perfect symmetry
Hard outside, inside not
Covers dyed, sparingly bought
Skittle skittles, explosions of sugar
Soft and brittle, of that I am sure

Oh, finely feathered fellow
with plumage of green and yellow,
your Houdini-esque abilities
and astounding circus-like agilities
make my flabby jowls drop with surprise
at how easily your hooked beak can prise
any dwarf-sized opening in your cage,
to open so easily, under your gauge.
Your stuffed, fat, feathered body can
fit through anything. Yes, I'm a fan.
Your squeaky, squawky, shrill talking
lets me know my efforts you're mocking
as I try to burglar proof your cage
as you shriek at me in indignant rage.
You really should hope that I succeed
because if I don't, the cat you'll feed.
