plough-
once 
freemen,
then wage slaves-
as a pauper
lie.

Suntanned sentinel 
Stand watch,
Shedding tears for unrequited love.
My cooling shadow stalks sun;
Caresses with timely sunscreen
Sweet sundial’s gilt Egyptian face.
