Easter 2020 In the South

a 5-7-5 (not sure if it could be called a senryu)

In some Southern states,
nature rivaled Corona.
We worshiped at home.

At Her Shrine

Once I felt that love was mine
I nevermore worshiped at her shrine

I should have known what would come next
On my tombstone these words ~ ‘her ex’

Whorehouse Prayers

i grew up next to
and worshiped in a whorehouse
called a church
where I raised many a supplication
on bent knees,
though very few were answered
except the prayers I wasn’t holy enough to pray

The Third Way

Pity the poor Communists
Who misjudged humanity’s dark side

Pity the poor capitalists
Who worshiped unbridled greed

Hooray for Buddhists
Who choose a third path
Mindfully controlling greed
Reducing the “I ness”
Embracing a higher consciousness

Church At Pergamum

Church At Pergamum
Lived at Satan's seat
But were strong in faith
God found problems though
Some members did wrong

Some did sex sins
Worshiped false gods
God said repent
Turn from your sin

God will come
Swiftly to
Judge the wrong

Reward
The just

Great!

He Tried To Love Me But I Was Too Broken

You question why I am so scared
Because I have climbed on to the backs of
men who couldn't carry me
I worship at the feets of men who
only worshiped my body
I have fed men who left me empty
I have watched men danced at the gaze
of my attention only to walk away

Comment To a Friend

in the darkness of the night
where skin and finger tips our only sight
rubbing noses and our cheeks
passions reaches higher peaks
our universe where we are one with God
our sacred touch
loved, worshiped, laud
bodies explode it's supernova
and rapping limbs fold over and over.

Better Than Ten Sons

Hannah was favored,
But Peninnah was fertile-
Both, wives of one man.

Peninnah provoked
Hannah til she cried to God
For an open womb.

Elkanah trembled
With Hannah, the wife he loved
After they worshiped.

God was exalted.
Peninnah's voice was silenced
By Hannah's promise.

Ancient Constrictor

Gleaming, constricting-
   Swallowing Ancient worship
      Anaconda creeps.

* Anacondas were once, and perhaps still are, revered and worshiped as
A God figure to Amazonian tribal natives. Anacondas are also one of the
few animals who actively seek, and ambush, human prey.

Twilight

I
OPEN AS A BLOSSOM
EMBRACED YOU
I
WRAPPED MY MIND
AROUND YOU
WORSHIPED YOU
LIKE A GOD
FELT YOU IN MY BONES
AND BREATHED YOU IN
AT EVERY CHANCE
THEN THE DAY DAWNED
ON ANOTHER LOVE
LEAVING YOUR MYSTERY
LIMP AND DEFEATED
BESTILL THE NIGHT
MY HAPHAZARD DREAM
ENDS AS IT BEGAN.

Wings

matchless texture is it not to thee
fictious in devotion for it can be
worshiped by many but few devour
peacfull it is to see an angels myth
brings pleasure to all humans bliss
wonderer of thy wings hith
thou art pure by body and soul
eyes have not seen thy lashes roll
nor wings to fall but rather call

Belief Is the End of Awareness

belief is the end
of your awareness
inching snails shrivel
mango groves pregnant
awareness is foolish perfect
mystery of trinity worshiped
black or white blood
is red and warm
today is the
beginning of to
morrow and the
end of yesterday
the end
absconding thoughts
i am forty my
mother
confessed

Daughter, Where Are Thy Accusers

Verily I say unto you dear child, the time shall come has now arrived....
Wherein Our Father from heaven shall neither be worshiped atop this mountain
Nor any other place: for His beauty is seeking they whom shall worship Him ?
In Spirit and truth ~ Love's finger tracing these signs a drop of blood unto her dust.

My Time of Worship Divine

Meeting at your church, we sat side by side. Our fingers, interlaced, were dancing! Sometimes you’d pause to trace my palm in silent adoration. I worshiped you in turn, for you touched my soul with new joy while the preacher preached of love. For Regina Riddle's "A Special Memory" Poetry Contest

Bound

I am the marionette
My strings moved by the hand
I cannot walk or stand
Without the aid of it
I am the marionette.

I am the hand
The master puppeteer
The strings that hold you here
Worshiped by all who stand
I am the hand.

I am the end
I will cease all things
Cutting all those strings
I am enemy and friend
I am the end.

Drizzle

Drizzle down the crops
                          ~usually dry in Spain~
    raindrops are worshiped

              rain is expected
                  ~for a future oasis~
    in a new dessert

                              without any trees
   ~not a refuge from the sun~
                     no rain from the sky

Forget the River

Do you remember the time we worshiped the river?
We would throw our sadness and pain in the water.
Devout sacrifice meant more time,
more time,
but
there was never enough.

Sacrifice after sacrifice, the river filled with garbage
until its rotting mass,
snakelike,
constricted our new-born infant Hope.

Now on the new-land I worship only myself.

Donars Oaks

worshiped trees felled oak
Lo! Cutting down Donar’s Oaks
evergreen tree grew

cut down in it’s prime
it takes 10 years to grow back
it’s triangular

shaped top with this ornament
reminds humanity of
Holy Trinity

pagan practices
must be chopped down and stood
inside a house now

First Rain In Monterey Winter

Gloomy's the yard covered with fallen leaves
Winter's coldness comes with winds wet with rains
Lonely souls dread most the lengthy cold nights
A quick-paced life about thin frosts complains
A cocoon imprisons the silkworm tight
Burnt out candles waste their flickering light
The empty house is a daily sad thing
Only the beauty's worshiped in painting

What is destiny

We worshiped Gods,
The fields destroyed,
By the monkies,
All the crops are davastated,
By the pigs, peacocks,
And We worshiped Gods,
Wheat standing in the fields,
Thrasted by the hails and rain,
In few seconds,
And We worshiped Gods,
Insects, rats nimbled the maze,
Graineries have run out of,
Children demand food,
And We worshiped Gods,

Jesus Is Not the Moon

Where Jesus is worshiped,
Doctrines increase,
Rituals develop,
Creeds to say and the bible.
A religion of politics
Crafted for conquest.

Jesus opened heaven’s door.
He is the way to touch God.

Don’t worship the way.
Relentless songs of praise,
Prayers for mercy and grace
And that He always be with us..

Jesus is not the moon.
He is the finger pointing to it.

Thank You

Hills spectacularly methodical
favour melting snow an frozen tops
alight there; like a plume in motion
inspire optics an deepen desire
to believe in all natures grant
an swing in diamond caverns
feel autumn spring summer
cuddle winter an season spice
raise thou own chamber
an sip bubbled pure silk water
breathe then worshiped air
an thank e're for grace given for e'er
