Better Than Ten Sons

Hannah was favored,
But Peninnah was fertile-
Both, wives of one man.

Peninnah provoked
Hannah til she cried to God
For an open womb.

Elkanah trembled
With Hannah, the wife he loved
After they worshiped.

God was exalted.
Peninnah's voice was silenced
By Hannah's promise.
