Premium Member two missing cowboys

two missing cowboys
wallets and cell phones in their trucks
their oldest friend gallops to the hills
to pray for his best friends
hoping they will return safely
with stories

The Spiritual Broker

They fall over themselves
Rush to tap on the blessing
Urged on by the holy man

Wallets are turned out
Blessings are decreed
Souls upturned await

They study not the word
Preacher has a direct line
To the creator and maker

Premium Member Christmas Arrives Early On Soup

Christmas is coming, our wallets will be getting thin
Come on guys its MONTHS before we let Santa in

So lets see poems about sunshine and having loads of fun
I don’t want a continual countdown about when Santa Claus will come!

Stock Exchange

These Bulls and bears like pets,
Loved by many,
Touching hearts,
Living in minds,
Nations to nations,
Down towns,
At homes,
In rooms,
Also in safes,
In wallets,
Even inside files,
Tied with no belts,no ropes but ribbons,
Bulls and bears at the stock exchange

Romance is grand, that is the tack.
Of course it's all commercial ruse;
Merchants to turn books red to black
And cause us wallets to abuse.
Not one device of foe nor friend
Tallies the losses less than gain
In funds when love comes to an end:
Cash down the unsuspecting drain.

The Ballad of Sam Walton

People go out,
 people go in.
Money they earn,
 money they spend.

Buggies are filled,
 registers ring.
Wallets are drained,
 Walton's they sing.

Prices go up,
 wages go down.
Holders wear smiles,
 workers wear frowns.

New store, new town.
 Mom and Pop shop,
have to shut down.

Premium Member What a Father Wants for Father's Day

  Neither gifts fancy
    nor restaurants shmancy

  No more ties, belts
    or wallets please

And forget the paisley long johns
    It’s June – I won’t freeze

Just give me a hug every day
a smile in every word you say

A pleasant greeting, a kiss every morn
    ~ treasured gifts, never timeworn

Shes Not Into You

uncaring and selfish
always :all bout her
no love.
just the fatal attraction of greed
money hungry : she feeds of wallets
no passionate kisses
just the dry and sealed lips of fate
no love
just the pain you suffer
injecting coldness and inhaling heartache
no thoughts to it
just the regrets off meeting this woman of sin

Whatever...Give Me Back My Tv!

They're splashed across the tube again
To me they're nothing but a pain!

Promising me great health care
And luxuries beyond compare

An end to crime and unemployment
Massive wealth and much enjoyment

Republican or Democrat
They all just make their wallets fat!

I don't believe a word they say
They're all con artists anyway!

Fancy Men

hostility snaps the nerves
taut from life in tiny boxes
your neighbor prances
naked
through the hall
and brags about her fancy men
attracted to her beautiful, black body
they pay
her rent
her groceries
everything she needs
she tramples them
orders them to hand over their wallets
they do
while she sinks into her coffin
of dependence on handouts

Oklahoma City, April 19th, 1995

One dark, debase moment of human deceit,
Explodes bloody carnage down into the street.
Wallets and windows fly, smoking and smashed.
Marrow and metal land, mangled and mashed.
Fragments in coffins, sealed soft in this earth.
Prayers pronounce endings too soon after birth.
Witness the mothers, who shriek names and weep,
Then credit the Devil. His hands need no sleep.

Premium Member Christmas Time

‘Tis time to unwind as Christmas Day draws nigh
‘Tis time to kiss wisdom in finance goodbye
‘Tis time for purses and wallets to sigh
‘Tis time to understand the reason why...
‘Twas Christmas Eve when expectancy ran high
‘Twas Christmas Day when the world received God’s gift
of love named Jesus,
a priceless treasure that money cannot buy.

                   Merry Christmas!

Side Walk Sale

tables groan beneath their burdens
marked-down goods, purses, wallets
cards and chain and you must wonder
"Where does it go, where does it go?"
when you're absent friend or guest
no one ogles you on the elevator
cares enough to open a door occupy
your orbit with a knowing smile?
faded price tags catch her glance
she shakes her graying head slowly
as if she is in complete agreement

yup two twenty two's
used to take four at one time
next came tylenol

then x y and z
from pharmacies deepest seas
thought i'd tried 'em all

now the cure is advil
in the pocket or aleeve
in my wallets sleeve

headaches just a pain
sometimes yes they're overboard
but sanity gains

through long years that teach
life's like that and i've wondered
"write home!....about what?"

A Ship That Is Sinking

A ship that is sinking,
full of treasures, and life,
how can we save her,
do we have the fight?
Some have taken,
and given away,
what made her strong,
back in the day.
Morals forgotten,
but greed lives on,
embedded in wallets,
their honesty gone.
Jobs traded off,
to keep power at hand,
the two faces of evil,
meet again.
Smoke screens up,
wool over our eyes,
making us believe,
everything is alright.

Premium Member Time

There’s plenty of time!
Times’s running out!
It sounds like time is a water spout

Time’s moving fast
Time’s moving slow
Does time really have somewhere to go?

Don’t waste time—Time is money!
So—We stuff time in our wallets?
Isn’t that funny!

Set your clocks in November
An hour you’ll lack
Don’t worry—next summer you’re getting it back!
But be it winter, summer, spring or fall

We really know nothing about time at all!

The Successful Preacher

The successful preacher spoke with a pious tone
very soothing to the ear.
Great days are coming .
when all of mankind shall be peaceable and agreeable
and there shall be no more irredeemable souls.

The church choir stood up and they began to sing like angels and beneath the choir you can hear the rustling of pockets and jingling of change, the snapping and unzipping of handbags, wallets and purses in a very pious tone soothing to the spirit of tithing.
