The Furless Cat
The Furless Cat

By Elton Camp

Sue’s house was filled with cat hair

To family it didn't seem fair

So she had to get to the source

Vacuumed the cat of course

But when done, the poor cat was bare...

Communion At Twilight
It is beyond the wakening twilight
That I listen for you
Closing my eyes…

It is somewhere adrift inside
This vacuumed stillness
You come to me…

It is these near silent whispers
Of your voice that reach out
Touching my soul…

It is you and I…momentarily...

THE HOURGLASS NEBULA

Be the volatile now
In the span of a
Short lived present
Welcoming its fortuitous
Ephemeral presence
That fades towards a
Momentary existence
Whereto, it fleetingly vaporizes
Into the vacuumed history
Belonging to an eternal

                         ~~second.

Premium Member Most Perfect Merman In China Sea
merman had no chance to swim away
a bunch of sirens serenaded him that day
they fought over him and the little sister won
she was a dazzling mermaid who knew how to have fun

merman never tried to get away again
he held her yarn, as she crocheted with a grin
cleaned house, washed dishes, vacuumed and made her tea
he was the most perfect merman in the China Sea...

Emotional Cleansing
they are cleaning up washing
the windows of their
souls unclean
corridors of their
 lonely desolate hearts
vacuumed
i need to sleep again
in the womb for
the new birth
resurrection
emotions are diligently
arranged in the
file cabinets
of the forming
brain
love kindness and patience
there
wrath hatred and judgement
here
may be destroy them
neatly arranged orgasms
going back to church...

Premium Member Corona Cabin Fever
I have
a squirrel-like stash of food
Two cases of paper towels
72 rolls of TP
Read seven books
Cleaned out the bottom drawer
Washed the cat
Run out of band aids
Found a coloring book and some crayons
Colored outside the lines
Refused to watch daytime TV
Contemplated my navel
Removed the lint
Done a push-up
Vacuumed under the couch
Watched the weather 12,368 times
Found a spoon
Started digging the tunnel

Unphysical
I drop my words
Into a vacuum
-So there's enough room-
But they're vacuumed up
By the lack of air
'Cause I made no wings
To bear them

Without force
I let them go
I let gravity
Take it's course
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
Go up in flames
Or slowly rust

All that's eternal
Is that's pure
Pain and hate
And love -no more

And I'm so scared
That it's all in my head
That life's a steady march
To dead
Dead ends
and culs-de-sac
Take one step forward
Then quick!
Turn back....

Bonding
Dozens of glass pieces glittered all over the floor.
A photo of their
wedding day lay bare between her feet.
She felt its nakedness warping it
gently in the soft breeze breeze,
blowing from her mother-in-law’s room. It was
an omen. She painstakingly collected
all the pieces, and meticulously
joined them together with superglue.
Once again the photo was vacuumed
away from the sands of time.
The bonding though, looked as though it was
disintegrating....

Premium Member Charlotte Is Housewife Not Wife
Charlotte kept the house cleaner than anyone else.
She washed and scrubbed and vacuumed until it was an obsession.
Her husband wanted her time, but she had none to spare.
As a housewife, she was determined to deep clean daily.

Her house was her kryptonite; she was super cleaner.
Let’s go on vacation, he would say. Let’s stay in bed a little longer.
Let’s go out to eat. But she was determined to be a success.
She successfully ran him out of her life and her clean house....
