Moving Train
Twenty-four hours
goes by very quickly.
A lot to be done,a lot to be said.
We're all moving,
unearthing the world's treasures.
Everyone has a goal and a train to catch....

Roots
Unsheathing the bloody sword
Unearthing many sorrows
Gathering countless pains
unveiling selected illusions
With roots and roots
of wails and dreads
devouring guilty minds

Looking On At a Golden Squirrel-
eyes see the golden
squirrel chitter-chattering
uncover his nuts
~
let still babbling
forward paws unearthing such
near noon must be lunch

Unearthing Dreams
Dreams are secret
Wide and global
Tiny and huge.
Dreamers are fast
Discover it
As long-playing.
Dreams diappear
As I thought it
It flew away.
To everyone
Who's near, who feels
Dreams seen by eyes....

Hidden Canines
From the hilly tops
We once were crested
Stilled and embedded
We were once nestled
But a gentle tap
With a gentle slide
Started the great fall
Sending all down
Yes down
With a bemused smile
Unearthing hidden canines...

First Encounter
Eyes
contact,
brief at first,
then a shy smile
as gentle blushes
tint an ivory mask,
unearthing bygone colours
long since buried ‘neath fallen stones.
A light touch of skin ignites a spark,
tentatively stirring a sleeping heart.

Revisiting
Unearthing blind roots, cyclic thoughts
spin round again
as if they had just come to me,
and had not been arriving forever.
Abandoned living-spaces excavated
from under the forgotten foundations
of elsewhere.
Places we leave our sweat in,
litter that never goes away,
stuff in pockets that once belonged
to a best jacket.
A best life thus far – but when?...

Let Me
Let me touch
your furrowed brow,
etched deep the painful trace.
Apply the balm of peacefulness,
raw memories erase.
Let me warm
the chill felt now
within your troubled soul.
With soft caress and lover's kiss,
retrieve the fire she stole.
Let me mesh
my heart with yours,
unearthing treasures rare.
Release the turmoil deep within,
and let me linger there....

Power of Words
The joy and the pain
exist only within this moment
flowing as the melody of a song
birthing the strongest of passions
unearthing feelings
that were long forgotten
Many times
not seeing
or knowing how we feel
one thing wishes will never change
words may grow old
but there power continues to move
hearts, minds, and souls
as a song it may end
but the fire of them is still there...

A Good King Never Eats the Serfs
Grandson discovered a magical land called, "under the bed".
Unearthing a tin of jingling coins.
I told him:
"The Big one is the king; all the rest are serfs".
He looked at me baby baffled, then let out a baby burp...
Without warning, he tried popping a serf into his mouth.
I pried it from his tiny mitt, and he cried.
so, I soothed him with a little lullaby..
~Little king-little king always love the serfs.
A good king would never eat the serfs. ~...

Grim Delight
Sun kissed roses and moon cast shadows,
this garden holds dark beauty.
Shifting eyes are ever watchful,
seeking me out with devilish glee.
Haunted castle looming above,
with it's banshee filled towers.
Crimson tears and scarlet pain,
these are the colors of my world.
And still I must go on,
unearthing buried secrets.
Dancing down the darkened halls,
the sprites of winter surround me.
Frozen emotion stills my heart,
and now I join the skeletons in the closet....

The Planting
11/20/16
The Planting
The fields of America were tilled.
Wolf in farmer's clothing donning
Red hat while
Sharp tongue cut grooves in the
Soil of humanity, violently
Unearthing constituents needed for his success.
White hooded hate and prejudice,
Previously buried by years of reform,
(now nurtured in sunlight and fertile ground),
Take root once again.
Reform meant to propel humanity forward.
Damaged in the time it took to say:
“Build a Wall”...

Ambrosia of First Bliss
It’s July … fragrant honeysuckles remind me
Of summers young when innocent passion bloomed;
Unearthing glances, confidences --- a throb my heart first held
Until desire turned into precious love, we ignited
The ambrosia of moist lips, the blush of intimacy:
Many a time, I wonder about him… fondling our space
While in eves quite , his kind laughter drifts now and then.

Climbing the Rainbow
Love is climbing the rainbow
With someone at your side
Unearthing pot of gold
And making her your bride.
Love in walking hand in hand
Along the colors of your dreams
And find she’s still beside you
As the sun spills out on morning’s gleam.
Cautiously you amble on the arches
Sympathetic to the tenuous tones
Find surrender in the lust of love
And capture her with arduous moans.
Treasuring the time
Lest the colors wane
Fearing might the magic melt
Like vapor after rain....
