That which alters not the thoughts,

A flame in my gut,
That is filling me whole.
My thoughts are a hurricane,
Out of control.
With eyes wide open,
I tear the dark veil.
I have decided
I will not fail.

It stalks like a cleaver assassin, waiting patiently hidden beneath a quiet mind.

Alone during my childhood years
Alone I stand as an adult
Fighting off tears and all my fears
Amidst the uncertainty and profound confusion
Of my younger years
I stand alone
Often afraid
Thoughts of the end drawing near
It’s total uncertainty
Permeates with fear
Inevitable for all
