In old rags
Biting cold winter night
Sleeping in footpath
Under open sky
Uncared for
Abandoned
No emotions ~
Only Silence

You have shown me
Truly
What it means
To be a vulture amongst mourning doves
To witness pain,
Absolute and final,
And feel only hunger
Gnawing with merciless lust, are we
On the skin
On delicacies uncared for
With no regard for what once was
Only what can now be
The stale residue of words
unlinked, unloved, uncared for
Like crackers on parched tongues
do no service to literature
Image-less, rotting in place
in letter segregation disintegrate
No one to protest their abuse
their ashes fit no urn
What lies behind it,
Dare I take a look and see.
Looks very old, uncared for,
What secrets does it hide,
Nothing here but a broken heart
Left bruised and broken
Lonely without hope and love
Now firmly locked and bolted
Key thrown away for good
No one can cross the threshold now.

Contest: Door to a Wayra - Nette Onclaud
Furious females take to the streets, shouting
Staid matrons join them, newly doubting
Angry young males overturn cars, defiant
Older men surrender their values, and riot
Lawyerly senators attack each other, at virtual war
As the issues that really matter, go uncared for
Civility is abandoned, all but forgotten
A nation's lifeblood tainted, utterly rotten
My body flips me off and I fall down
Into the sunburnt grass;
It's telling me “It’s time to sleep!
Just look how good this bed of
Uncared for dirt appears in the
Afternoon shade?
Pray, tell me why you will not
Dream now when your
Dorm room didn't catch a wink?”
And I smile at its
Upturned two middle fingers and say,
“Well body, it's actually time to write for me.”
Pour down the waters,
May they fall over
The sanctuary so it
May flower abundantly.
May the fruit it bear
Belong to you
The honey it produces
Be sweeter than most.
May the territorial waters
Live like a spirit,
Roaming over the earth
Like liberated winds.
I am the sad sanctuary
Untamed and uncared for,
Waiting for the gardner
To come and tend to it.
Unseen
Uncared for
Left crying on the floor
All but wanting more
Dismissed
Don't care
Death called out
Holding in its hand
Walking alongside the dim
Numbing to the blade
Thinking it as if it were yesterday
But it's always today
Back burner broke
Resorting to outlets
Didn't think twice to repair
Or to mend
It's fine
You'll see
When she's hanging
Outside the corktree.
bland, plain, simple, uncaring, unkind
These are ugly words
spinster, old maid, crone, hag, these are ugly words
blah, dribble, drip, droopy, dreary, depressing
Do I have to say it?
gray, tan, unclean, unkempt, uncared for, unloved
these are ugly words
words that hurt, maim, kill, bruise and make people cry
idiot, dummy, despicable, unwanted
any words that make you feel less than yourself
words that make someone cry
These are ugly words
RESOLUTIONS
my resolutions?
i don’t dare think how many
so? won’t make any
two thousand thirteen
will come with january
fade – february
just like all the rest
predictions are numerous
cartoons humorous
politicians bad
the voters all up in arms
sick of d.c. charms
prices going up
wages quite stationary
unemployed many
uncared for homeless
with their numbers increasing
and rich desisting
i’ll sit by and watch
expectations will be few
all in all what’s new?
