Ugly Words

bland, plain, simple, uncaring, unkind
These are ugly words
spinster, old maid, crone, hag, these are ugly words
blah, dribble, drip, droopy, dreary, depressing 
Do I have to say it?

gray, tan, unclean, unkempt, uncared for, unloved
these are ugly words
words that hurt, maim, kill, bruise and make people cry
idiot, dummy, despicable, unwanted

any words that make you feel less than yourself
words that make someone cry 
These are ugly words

I had a grand daughter who at 8 thanked me all day long for telling her I thought the word "fat" should never be used again.

I mean RUINED it! I truly HATE paperwork. Does anyone get this?

I never understood the saying” sticks and stones will break bones, but words will never hurt me,” but it’s not true. They may not hurt you physically, but the pain that ugly and means words cause runs deeps. It took me years to heal from ugly words.
