Above the Sky
I peep above sky
at heavenly trimmings---
lifting up my breaths

A Sparkly Existence
All that glitters is never gold,
One can only believe a small
percent of what is spoken,
or seen,

Illusions can present life as a wonderful
dream, and once all the fluff and trimmings
disappear,

Only the stark reality exists
and life is as mundane as can be.......

Premium Member Eager Appetite
marmalade ham hocks roasting in a pan
smells of it wafting through the kitchen
landing in the living room
tantalizing me

salivating glands
eager appetite
anticipating hot buttered rolls
with greasy tops
and lavish baked potatoes with all the trimmings

Dinner’s ready!...

Do
It was the night before
Long awaited day
All the trimmings
Put in proper place
Picture books
Process being made
Tux and Gown
Finest in town
Music special picked
Little girls flower baskets
Yes the guy as well
Can't forget the wedding ring
A Oneness in the proceeds
Saying
Love you...

Ex Abrupto
Furtive
Closed-off
Your paramecium can not
invade my
paradigm.

Mow the lawn
and trim off the new
put it in a trimmings bag.

Hopefully our bodies
are ecologically sound.

It all returns to the beautiful
spinning
earth

but you will never again
be allowed to
invade my
mass-laden
earth-ridden
universe...

Trimmings
They've trimmed the tops off trees outside,
Where will the black crows now reside?
Perch upon the remaining stubs up high
To view the cold but clear January sky?

They've trimmed the tops off trees outside,
There's nowhere left for the crows to hide.
Perhaps they'll pepper the park trees left behind
And contemplate why humans are unkind....

Cat and Christmas Tree
Cat and Christmas tree

As I stood adorned with my trimmings,
she watched me with her twinkling eyes,
Magnetised to the gifts and my needles,
and to fluttering tinsel that hugged me tight,

They celebrated as she climbed me atop,
bit my needles and rubbed my trunk,
Before anyone could take a catnap,
Together we came tumbling on the ground !!

My Thanksgiving Muse
I toil and wonder which words taste the best
For my muse is cooked with rhyme and a touch of lyric
A dash of acrostic with a small bit of concrete
Gives it just the right flavors for a contest

With the side dish of poetry soup
All the trimmings are there I have placed
3rd place on the table hoping all will be there
Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends

My muse is cooked dinner is served, this is

THE END...

When a Door Closes
WHEN A DOOR CLOSES

WHEN A DOOR CLOSES
ITS A NEW DOOR OPENING
WITH A NEW BEGINNINGS
AND ALSO WITH BEAUTIFUL TRIMMINGS
THAT WILL BRING ABOUT JOY; HAPPINESS
TO ALL WHO HAD FALL AND WHO HAD FELT SMALL.
BUT AN OPEN DOOR MEANS TO GET ON THE BALL AND NOT STALL.
FOR ALL CLOSE DOORS DOESN'T MEAN THAT'S THE END
FOR THE NEW DOOR THAT OPENS IS AN OPENING HAND TO GIVE YOU AH HAND; ALSO TO HELP YOU TO FIEND FOR YOURSELF....

Christmas
These Christmas lights shine no more
Except in the hearts of women and men
Burning bristly until the festive season comes again
Bringing us joy and warmth and a touch of snow

I love this special time
As families come together sometimes from afar
To reunite in a song or two
And to enjoy the gifts of our prosperity

The final touch is added
A lovely turkey that is complete with trimmings
This wonderful season so soon is gone
However the spirit of love
Well, it carries on...

Premium Member Flora
Oh lush flora, I watch its parade
Sashaying through woodland mead and glade;
How new blooms quaver…adorned with grace
That every trail rules this courtly place :
Lustrous the mural, the birdsongs swoon
A chant hailing rebirth of life's tune;
And peonies orange waft, awake
Their trimmings enthrall, how I would shake!
And never will this portrait be lost
When Maytime dreams are heavenly glossed!
