Rubbing ink calms the mind
so hairs may glide,
to bequeath
long lasting lines.

The last poem of the year. A tradition since 2013.
By Feo.
Some of us have survived 2016. May our rebellious spirit come back.
The Bible condemns all tradition
St. Paul says to hold fast to the traditions he taught
Either orally or in writing
A tradition that
Brings love and joy to many
As we remember
Family and friends alike
And so, we honor those dear.
A tradition of the holidays
no need to take a survey;
John McClane firing
Hans Gruber falling
just reply with Yippee ki yay.

Sharpened senses,beyond reason
convention or tradition.Extraordinary
in the spectacular.Turbulence tamed
the arbitary becomes evident.
A holiday tradition,
Christmas time with Dad.
A gourmet appetizer.
Chicken livers cooked,
with sherry, garlic.
Keep cold to-
spread
For you a message does await
Designed to determine your fate.
Expedition,
Of new tradition;
Recognizing God is always great.

“You may write it any way you wish,
though by tradition it is done this way.”
Done which way? Who knows?
Does the master know? Ask the master!
Upon the first strains
The entire audience stands...
Sing Hallelujah!!
(Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus"...King George II started this tradition)
Tradition is a lovely thing.
It binds our past and the future.
Remembering the way it’s always been,
Hoping the comfort of sameness endures.
Tradition sudden crashes down
Who still upholds it best leave town
There's a reason it's come undone
~ when it doesn't speak to anyone
Deprived pilgrim wives ruminated
On ways to get hubbies elated:
After Thanksgiving chow
Ogling men hollered “wow!”
As wet-shirted women they rated.
A cornerstone of culture,
a tradition that connects all.
So common,
so widespread,
yet so unique in individuality.
A binding tie,
to all humanity.
Christmas time
We gather as one
Family
To go share
Presents we give together
Open united

Entrant into Paula Swanson's "Traditions" contest
Seems an amorous Florida man
Drove right into a FedEx step van.
Though the oral tradition
Caused a head-on collision,
The package was delivered as planned.
Exchanging gifts on Xmas Eve:
My mum’s tradition Sue just hates;
A loaded stocking by the bed,
Ensures we spend the day as mates.

APRIL FOOLS!
Please forgive me for lying.
April Fools Day is a tradition practiced mostly in the states.
April 1st is the official free for all prankster date.
Walls closing in
On an unforeseen vision
Of happiness lost
And blind tradition
When fearlessness fades
And my eyes do glisten
I only hope
That you will listen

Mom said, “No sex before marriage,”
With rules she thought were quite sage.
But in her wedding shot,
I see a twist in the plot—
Was her vow just a part of the age?
