My families best kept secret, to this day my family still goes out picking "Goduna" The plant is actually called depending where you are from- "Cardoons, Cardones, or Carduna" ( I believe it originated in Sicely) My father butchered the word to make me and my six siblings believe it was called "Goduna" it stuck with us for ever. The plant has huge green leaves which you disgard, the stem is what you eat. We boil them for a few hours, dip in egg and breadcrumb, add Italian seasoning, and Monja! A deliscious delicacy appitizer :)
