Tom and Jerry Know What I Mean Dave

Sometimes i feel

Like the cartoon

Tom & Jerry

At times

I am the cat purring toying with a mice

And sometimes

The mouse playing with the cat

Know what i mean Dave

Premium Member Hello Autumn

A flame flickers,
toying and teasing
some jazz in the background.

Like stealth on tiptoe,
the darkness settles in
as the tables await couples.

Night descends upon
come-hither invitations
and your future awaits.

Eratos Liar

Erato’s Liar

Oh Geez,
Not yet another,
Oh Please,
That song’s been sung ad infinitum ad adnaseum,
Love Poems smother,

ME! With cloying sickly sweet annoying
Toying with
My mind
Please muse,
Send me… You Send Me
A spirit of another kind.

Tinker Toying

Circles and sticks.
Round holes that
don't fit.
     Elementary
          my dear.
Magic carpet cruise
down
crooked streets
      of vacant use.
 Nonsense.
      Silly.
He was always
     square.
Whoever surmised he
was cut from
     the round?

The Walls Are Talking

The walls are talking
and I want to be out of sight
I need to be away from it all
to keep my cool
Toying with emotions
throwing around rumors
I need to be away from it all
The walls need to be still
and just watch with delight
as flowers start to bud
not take off in full flight

Not a Title

Anonymous-- like that one.
Ode to the pea-size hat
that likes to play a tune
wherever it's at.

Coming home, enjoying
one or two, put it on
the cat who after cartoon
chased the rat.

Comes to dinner toying
and tossing thing of it.
Never needing it too soon,
never that.

She’s a chameleon
The reflection
Of her surroundings
Changing on a whim

With the world around her
Unrecognizable
One day to the next
Swaying with the wind

No one knows her
Least of all herself
Toying with the hearts
Of those around her

Premium Member The Tide

Listen to poem:
The moon was rising
pulling at the sea
– toying with it,
gutsy and playful.

I felt the commotion
racing me, tugging at me
– drenching me.

Right up ‘til tides ebbed,
baring again the
hard shingles of life.

Listen to poem:
october memories
their falling brittle leaves
swirl in my head

colors toying in the breeze
they sing their song
they dance their dance

their one last escapade

Writer's Block

Writer's block
Has finally struck
I watch the clock
As the hands fly

No ideas
Nothing in my brain
So this is what happens
When I don’t feel insane

Writing,
My one joy
Has left for now

I hope I’m merely toying with myself
Because oh how sad I will be
If I permanently place
My writing on the shelf

Premium Member Love Bombing

They blow you up
To let you down
Make you feel love
When being clowned

Won’t be denied
They’ll draw you close
Promises of sky
And pots of gold

They’ll look so kind
And really they’re not
Playing with mind
Toying with heart

This may start fun
Won’t end well
Love bombing bum
Is really for sale

Her Love

She is as beautiful as sky's unwilling to rain,

on 69 degree days,

up high where I have talked all the way down my walk so plain-

so whatever you heard of her blundering fame,
you must shout now how you'd love to die of shame!

Shame in names after the places you gamed-

toying with the very walls frame.

Discovery

Testing and toying with a new skill,
Recently discovered just over that hill,
Not knowing yet if there could be any danger,
Still seems like a good way to release any anger,
New things constantly being found,
You just have to look and move things around,
So just be careful and everything will be fine,
Now i'll leave you to search as i end on this line

Coming and Going

Never once has he stayed
Too many times delayed
Here then gone
games prolonged
Every time misleading
My heart deceiving
They come to me like an apocalypse
Every moment the catalyst
Reveling and toying
In my security destroying
Every time the same
His words cannot explain
Loneliness grows stronger
Time seems longer
And I cannot adjust
There's no man I can trust

Premium Member Etch Lavender Fields

Sun crawled out of warm sleep with hints of apricot, amber blush, a toying amour an intense inquisitiveness to embrace the world. To fondle the ocean's surface, etch lavender fields, and excursion-over its mounds. 1/3/2019

Rhyme Battle

Take it from a delicate heart
Unafraid to start
Deliberately toying your emotions-
Darling, it’s smart
I thought I warned you
I sought to mourn you
Then you turned the game around
You burned the flame to the ground
leaving me in the dark
Inability to light a spark
Cause my heart once full of light expired
And I’m too sick and tired
And uninspired
To wait for you to conspire
Form: Rhyme

The Battle

A creaking sound
Enters the ear
Sounding like
The deepest fear

Shadows in the hallway
Ever step they take
Makes the old beat down house
Feel as if in an earthquake

The shadows approach
The door of the mind
Toying and playing
A pain of the worst kind

Only one has the power to defend
Those who these demons have mangled
Once the battle begins, victorious will be
That of the angel

Premium Member Teaching

I could barely juggle my job and my life
the bumper car freeway caused me oodles of strife
to and from school, it was a circus for sure
the drivers are mean, their motives impure

the clown dance I had to do at work was annoying
the children who were rewarded were the ones always toying
the principal had all of us teachers on a merry-go-round
we never felt respected, the place was not sound.

Once a Soldier

They are drinking beer in huge mugs
Like the world is ending tomorrow
Toying with the lovely ladies
Rounds are easily exchanged

Tasting the fleeting peace
Every grain of it savored
For tomorrow they might
Be required to take up arms

Enters the Military police
Then they all leave quietly
Entering the military vehicle
Departing towards the barracks

She 'Part 2'

A she now mine,
A she made time.
    A she instincts cool,
    A she minimizing blue.

A she daydreaming,
A she leaning still.
    A she toying glee,
    A she living free.

A she and her hoodie,
A she and her fringe.
    A she reflecting smile,
    A she reinventing style.

A she intentionally indifferent,
A she intimating significance.
    A she simplifying stealing,
    A she modernizing meaning.

Your Toy

I am here for your amusement
I am the game you play
I just keep you happy…yes that what I do
I am your toy
I know you are toying with my emotions
I am your fool…yes I know
I know my sleepless nights mean nothing to you
I am just a toy for your enjoyment …a game you play
I am your fool
I am tired of being your sick game ...your toy …your amusement
I will not continue to play this game with you...the game is over

Premium Member The Aura of Your Glow

Oh, you cold and lonely mistress
kissing softly leafless trees
toying with your distant lover
as his shadow slowly flees

bats need not your feeble light
as they hunt by sound not sight
while lovers lift their view to you
embracing fully what you do

so cast the aura of your glow
through the trees across the snow
for it’s your softly tempered tone
leads hand-held lovers back to home

More Than Residual

a potent indication
of residual energy
slowly taking possession
of my sanity
         I feel it manipulate
         each experience
         toying with my fate
         confirming its existence
I can only surmise
it's a malicious shadow
which somehow escaped demise
when yesterday had to go
        some spiritual attachment
        of which I'm unaware
I must force it to repent
        so I can spiritually repair
