Tin Man
Think I wanna be heartless
So I would stand a chance
So wish I was heartless
Like the Tin Man
Think I wanna be heartless
So I could be that cold
Oh when I am heartless
A sight to behold...

Perpetual Forgiveness
Gray lines become fragmented
twisted around each beat
that pings within this tinman
with stones upon my feet

washed white walls
plastic virgin talks
split tongue keeps waggling
while the Holy Ghosts walks

peppered in pretend
pin it to a shoe
the worth of three words
and your promises, not you...

Where have you been
Because ive been so lost
Without my kin
They've come for my heart

Premium Member Voting Is Not Everything
How did I land in Kansas?
Who plunked me here?
Smack in the middle of the USA?

A state where my vote will never count.
Thanks to the Electoral College

What was I thinking when I arrived?
Now I remember. I was thinking of my grandchildren.
Wanting to be closer.

The land of Dorothy, Toto, the Tinman and tornadoes
Wizard of Sunflowers and I am in an earth-sheltered house.
Voting is not everything....

The Tinmans Heart
The tinman had no heart,
He cried and cried till it was torn apart.
Even though he had a mind,

The tinman knew he wasn't blind.
It stopped beating, tap, tap, tap,
No
more,
A man made out of tin but
No heart to get
Sore.

Heart ache heart pain he didn't know of such,
Even with
A little pain, there just wasn't much. But
Rather then set there and ask why,
The tinman went to work ,froze solid, and there he died....

Premium Member Do Not Take Tinman To the Airport
Airport security is a nightmare when Tinman is around.
When security leads him off, he makes not a bit of a sound.
Lion rolls his eyes because fear overtakes his heart.
Don’t fret says scarecrow, whose logic is totally smart.

Toto gives an annoyed bark that travels to the next Wal-Mart.
I know, I tell him, but she is not wicked, so please don’t start.
I show them identification, and they usually let me go.
Especially when we get to Kansas the home of many a tornado....
