Eternity

Why are days looking like endless lifetimes,
Mistimes of pastimes...

As all I have is a mortal heart...
Foretime the thwart, an impart.

Alone

Alone in the dark, in the middle of the night
A cautious heart, afraid of light
The peeping eyes of negativism
Tries to thwart its optimism

Winter's Night

I shall call the bluff of this icy winter’s night,
Thwart her breath with my mother’s quilt,
And pray for the return of my lover as added measure.

Mosquitoes
Summer's pesky buzzy biters
Mosquitoes

In summertime everyone goes
(unless to show off like fighters)
indoors to thwart itchy-nighters.
Mosquitoes.

Its rain and rain; and rain again..'
But are those politicans ready?
To thwart or stall? this great downfall'
Cause for weeks its been coming steady!
How we need a crew that will take issue
As with a plan-demic we knew
Proclaiming, one..' Raindrop (is one too many!)

For Good Or For Worse

For good or for worse.

When chickens are blessed with biting teeth
Spiteful snakes slither in your bosom
Times past and future overwhelm
Your mundane life and stifle
Howling winds thwart you forward
Keep spreading your wings
Make your pen stroll
Turn to the
Supreme
Lord.

Decisions

Waves crash against the rocks
The damp soil soaks his feet
The sun of yesterday drops
Just as the crimson moon speaks
To him and tells him about
The decisions he has chosen
And the consequences he can't thwart
But he can change gloomy eyes
And rise with hope that never dies!

Out In All Weathers

No less cold, nor less hot
And yet, in my day
What had induced, more so
Outward facing joy.
Dragged off from did annoy
As deflect away.

Nothing can thwart a child!
True now. Truer then!
And let me now tell you
Of such a self will.
Air froze, air fused, and still
A door flew open.

Premium Member Lying In Wait For Thebius

With precision, Thebius stopped every ten minutes on the route
To put some garlic into the road, shaking it into a symbol
That would thwart any demons following him,
So they would lose their way
Unfortunately for him, they had all gone ahead
And were waiting at the bend right before his next stop.

Who the heck was a supporter
of this brain-dead Katie Porter?
Seems her daughter’s mind was tortured:
she asked, if raped, who’ll escort her
to a neighborhood aborter
now that Trump can surely thwart her?
Porter should receive no quarter;
It's quite clear it would comport for
Californians to report her.

Life's Moment

An icicle melts as it forms,
drip by drop,
slowly presiding over time.
Ready to pierce my eye,
cautiously alert to cut my skin.
To throw, to thwart me
into the lake of fire.
To impede my dream
into depression, oblivion.

Slowly presiding over time.
Slowly reminding me of
Life's austere and long hallways.

Fear

A fear driving my heart,
Taking me nowhere

No way to be a part,
Of my will to dare

Things around me start,
To make me scare

My tenderness so much in thwart,
Looks impossible to bear

The strange force can tear me apart,
My voice cloaked in fear

Even unable to hide in thought,
My nerves keep me in despair

Lego Movie Prophecy

One day, a talented lass or fellow,
a special one with face of yellow,
will find the piece of resistance,
from it's hiding refuge underground,
and with a noble army at the helm,
this MasterBuilder will thwart the kragle and save the realm,
and become the greatest, most interesting person of all times,
and it is true because it rhymes.

Never Mind the Blind Mind

J-ust never mind the blind mind
O-f others who scorn you;
Y-ou possess the faith that's so great and true.

D-on't mind the blind mind that owns the cold hard heart;
E-vade the deceitful lies, because the truth they thwart.

L-et not the tricks prevail,
E-xpect them to resign;
O-n the second of June,
N-ever mind the blind mind.

Just Sing, My Friend

Inspecting emptied views
Of my tulip glass
The ambience skews
A surreal warping
Turned callously crass
Words lose edge
In distractions gum-up
Jaded rebellion
Heart says give up
I laugh
As another cork erupts
Languages absence
Would thwart the corrupt
Still the drunkards sing
Voices echoed to space
Bellowing ballads
Is man's natural grace

Amor Mio respect the ethos of my heart
honor the flowers that I grow in full bloom
Like violets from Napoleon Bonaparte
I'm your Josephine, go tender to exhume

Amor Mio taste and be heart of my heart
let the dew drops fall afresh on April blooms
See the purple petals turn to deep-dish swart
violaceous hues of me you just can't thwart!

Aaron

Aaron went through deadly struggle
Of dark vile forces from within,
They advanced trying to smuggle
His soul offering heroin.

He was then lost, longed for support,
A hug, conversation, shoulder
While dark forces attempted to thwart
His plans of becoming bolder

To face his cruel addiction
Taking responsibility
Of past in his jurisdiction,
One day to reach tranquility.

The Court

The Court, they report,
Will be coming up short
When Kennedy leaves
(Plans nobody can thwart).

We’ll see who will be
Chosen as nominee,
Surely someone divisive,
I can guarantee.

The fears that appear
From the left will steer clear
Of conservatives’ hopes
That the old days draw near.

This split, I submit,
Means we’ll all take a hit
As the country unravels;
A bad time to quit.

Premium Member A Baby with its Mother

The baby sat joyfully on her lap The mother on his tender thighs did tap It tickled the boy to laugh and laugh He was just one and a half Both invariably enjoyed that sport No one came in between their fun to abort The baby had such fairy grace Kiss after kiss she planted on his face The blissful pair looked ever so cute Who on earth can their oneness thwart?

Premium Member Wait For It

by Dawne Zacharias

When we think all is lost
you've done everything to thwart the jabs of hopelessness

Suicide appears,
Answers are never found on this level

Get out! Right now, and away from it, raise your sights
And when you do, ask God if it is really you
the darkness will dispell, His joy will surround
a brightness of hope will be found.
One step then another, we are going on this
journey together.

Canny of Unspoken Request

You left in boldness, your ears flicker unnoticed
Aren’t you a canny one…?
I said “Oh…”, and you said “No!”
How thwart art thou?
Remember the Gate? How he spoke the words…
In context, He was a parable about love
He said “For God so…”, and some said “Woe!”
If I said “Oh”, and you say “No”
If I said “it was too quick for you to say…”
And if I said “I can show you another way…”
But you say, “You’re too canny, per se…”

Beloved

Today I have to confess,
I have been suppressed.
By you,
Else who?
You have stolen my heart,
By you,
My sleepiness is being thwart.
The way you smile,
It freeze me for a while.
I wanna be your fringe hair,
To disturb your face,
This is my love's base,
I couldn't help myself,
From staring you.
If I am a grass,
You're morning dew.
I am tired of tolerating all this,
I love you all my life,
This is my wish......

Eden’s garden manifest
Disgraceful sins confessed
Lily footprints scattered
Nutrient droplets pattered

Eve, deprived of paradise
Exiles ultimate price
Misdeeds penance pour
Tethered tis utopian door

Devious snake most elated
Abiding piousness over-rated
Resentful of mortal campaign
Relished serpentine reign

Aromas pierce thru deceit
Flowerbed mornings greet
Thwart desires craved
Embosom allure saved

Alone and Not Lonely

This topic can cause a debate
But the thought of it is true.
One can be alone and NOT lonely
Another can be among a number
Of friends, yet feel all sad and blue.

Don’t get me wrong there are good friends,
Who shares, cares, and quick to make amends,
Some so called friends it’s sad to say, can
Manipulate, thwart, and ruin your day.

Alone doesn’t have to feel lonely, if you have
Inner peace that can be found in God alone.
