I Wrote a Song

I wrote a song
It had you name
I went up and down and swerved around
The tune came in and I sang out loud
Your name
Your smile in tune with my beating drum
I dint know but this was what they called love

Larkspur

She chants saccharine words

Calamity dissolves into ruins

The sweetest words I’d ever heard

She chants saccharine words

All focus swerved

A conquest worth pursuing

She chants saccharine words

Calamity dissolves into ruins

To Get To the Other Side

Crashed my car as I swerved to miss a chicken crossing the road.
She stopped and stared as I got out to inspect the damage.
“Why were you crossing the road?” I yelled.
She turned away and walked off into the Winter night.
Stupid riddle.

The Unsinkable Titanic

'Twas claimed Titanic was unsinkable.

   To think otherwise was unthinkable!

      Alas, she met her fate,

         Because she swerved too late!

Tangling with ice cubes proved it sinkable!

And So the Trees Live

When the greens turned brown
And the blues swerved white
Desolate branches swayed
On a cold wintry night
Silence echoed- till mornings sky...
Warmth the trees- 'fore they die

A Pleasant Day For a Drive

There’s something richly picturesque
About the contortion of a man who has just
Swerved into the left lane in order to throw ugly gestures
At you through your open window--
All for shifting to the right
So you wouldn’t miss your exit.

I smile back in relief that
He didn’t need to be in the right lane
After all

If Only They'D Listen

As her car crossed paths with the oncoming driver,
out her window she shouted "PIG!"
The oncoming driver screamed back "WITCH!" to the woman
is what the oncoming driver did.
When he came around the curve
he immediately swerved
into a huge pig and was killed in an instant.
The moral of the story simply is this:
Men, if only they'd listen.

Hunting Season

Oh Deer

Look deer, a deal.
Steering wheel swerved.
My meal on wheels.

Deer-ly Departed

Hunter hunted.
See there’s Freddy -
stopped dead in tracks.

Just Look Up Fool

High beam dreamer.
Should occur to
him; heir on roof.

Hibernation Hideout

Bern let cub go.
Small bear-throw safe
in fro-zen sleep.

White Christmas

How exhilarating to observe
All around the white snow as it swerved,
Around the towering dark fir trees,
That grew richly on slopes in the breeze.

Below a small farm provided heat
Food was plentiful so that friends would meet.

The scene soon stopped, but there was still hope,
I took my toy and shook the snow globe.

Snow fell. The crib lit. I dreamt of a luscious feast.
It’s White Christmas again.

Wedge of Life

Living on the edge,
on a thin razor like edge,
I walked on one side,
of a deep yawning wedge,
wind blew hard in a roar,
sweeping my hairs,
my legs swerved,
as if inviting a fall,
I steadied,
only to be windswept again,
precipitatinggly and gingerly,
I walked along,
life is a similar wedge,
with you on one edge,
it is not known for sure,
when a wind might blow,
and take you deep in wedge,
quite dead.

Goddess Golden Irenup

True to your name golden
You’re an angel from heaven
As a host you simply shine
Magnanimous are you fine
Celestial virtues so sublime
Enthrall me to cloud nine
Ever indebted to thee such
No words to express much
‘Srikhand’ when you served
My palate got just swerved
What a lavish dish was it..!
So sumptuous and so sweet..!!
Willing to be guest thine
Again if Lord does divine
Today being thy birth day cool
I wish thee all success full..!!

Fears and Tears

Fears, tears, and loss so great.
Yet it didn’t have to be done.
A car swerved, then lost control.
Now other lives are gone.

Those around so severely hurt.
Live changes can’t be undone.
Memories, horror, perhaps more loss.
Life becomes so cruel for all.

All because one chose to drink, then drive.
A choice that didn’t have to become.
Now he will live… several not…
Forgiveness may never come…

As fears, tears, and more loss will travel with the one.

My Hobbies

I don’t like painting.
I don’t like to sing.
The hours I waste after school.
Make them think I’m a fool.
I chose to do nothing.
Even when my phone rings.
I cry when I hear a call.
They just want me to play basketball.
The calls go unanswered.
Like my prayers, the day we swerved,
And rolled down a hill,
I remember her body, still…
If I had a hobby…
Maybe that would help with the memories.
But these days, I let them consume me.
Because I was the one who hit the tree.
