Nonchalant Monkey Rides Elephant
Nonchalant Monkey rides the masked elephant in swampy bend.
We wonder where he found the likes of this mysterious friend.
Who put the mask on this beast? An inquisitive star child asks.
The monkey keeps mum, no surprise, but it was quite a task....

Violated By My Own Imagination
Creepy crawling slimy wiggly thing
Feels eerily strange against my pajama leg
I wake up suddenly
Thinking cobra
or sleazy wet rat
violated by my own imagination
Snatching my explorer hat
out of the clutches of the crocodile
in the swampy forest floor...

Tules Land
Marshy natives claims own bog
Changed in light paints in needle work
Space by space to lit hole in swampy darkness
Every shape thought is legitimate
As it hangs in a opening tree
In mystical ways the one and only flare
As branches in fierce bubled in naive land...

I do not know?
Pink
Wander
Falter
Ponder
Endless steps down endless corridors
Dragging heavy slimy soul behind
Through dust & rock & mud
Swampy mossy tangled soul
Full of reptile teeth & corpses of flamingos
Glossy rosy feathers float to the surface
& all they can see
& all they can say is
OOOH
what a lovely shade of pink...

The Creature
Creeping and crawling through the miry bog
Disguising itself through the thick swampy fog
The creature it stalks its unfortunate prey
So it can gnaw on their bones all night and all day
Many a traveler has the creature devoured
Feasting on them as they laid down and cowered
The creatures relentless in its desire for blood
As it overtakes you like an oncoming flood
If you do travel go round the way for if you enter
You’ll end up its prey....

Swamp Thing
China made my canoe which I proudly adored
Flotation and recreation all on the creek shores
The day was right cool
The water icy below and a sudden rupture
Sent me into the swampy muck
Slick as an oily tool attended fish school
My feet had no traction and caused a change reaction
No leverage --spilled my good beverage
Never depend on a chinese rubber air canoe
Or you just might loose a shoe!!
**well I guess it is done ;-]...

Lifes Road
Life is our journey
We venture along its road
Sometimes free of burden
Often with a heavy load
Life’s roads are varied
Some hard to navigate
Many long and crooked
Others paved and straight
Some take the swampy road
Sinking along the way
Other roads are all uphill
Coping with a steep incline each day
Many walk a continual maze
Never able to find their way out
Then those who take one step forward, two back
Forever wandering about……...

Santa In Florida
Santa in Florida
By Elton Camp
In Florida, Christmas ain’t so grand
Santa’s sleigh won’t slide on sand
And not many children there stay
Most of the folks are old and gray
Santa’s thick, red suit will be right
To keep away the mosquito bite
Children have to leave him a Coke
On its foul water, he would choke
In land that’s so flat and swampy
The old elf just has to feel grumpy
After Florida, Santa’s not seen later
He got swallowed by an alligator...
