sunblock, beach, summer, sunshine,
tropical coconut smell
it's sunblock season...
Inspired by Brian's Poem Writer's Block
I do not know?
Is there a cream for writer's block?...
10 Trillion sunblock
sunblock, allusion, insect, life, nature,
No UV today
Plagues of ravenous locusts
Blot out solar rays
By David Kavanagh...
sunblock, nature, people,
Bask in the inclination
Of August sunlight---
Alms of sunrays penetrate
Extinguishing the sunblock.

sending us summers sensational tan.
Sunbathers swallow in the sweet sunshine;
shorts, sandals, shades,
8th April 2024
sunblock, future, moon, sun,
nature’s own sunblock
Total solar eclipse across America
hope to witness one in my lifetime....
GLOBAL WARMING - BRING IT ON
GLOBE WARMING BRING IT ON
Closing down sales in fur-coat shops
Polar bears amble past Madison Avenue bus
Miami people swim to work
Fry bacon free on sidewalks and building-tops
Rush for sunblock of 4000-plus
Ice-cream for dessert? That’s a perk
sunblock, analogy, summer,
an excited hot dogs fun
by the lemonade
eating cold melons
fam gathering in the shade
chasing ice cream truck
at the park feeding the ducks
sitting at the lake
picnic at the park
covered laver in sunblock
hot now summertime

Summer Cooking --- Well Done
sunblock, beach, sun,
Summer cooking on the beach,
Slap the sunblock where I can’t reach,
Baking in this broiling sun,
Ever since the day begun.
I’m roasting alive can’t you tell?
Touch my skin and I’ll scream like hell!
This is more than an alarming tan,
Someone said I’m a lobster man.
Sitting here I continue to broil,
Want some popcorn, just add some oil,
I’m finished now, I’m well done,
Cooking here in the summer sun.
sunblock, funny, life,
Some folks’ say all my life I’ve been a BLOCKHEAD.
Maybe if I could have gotten through that last ROADBLOCK,
news of my incarceration wouldn’t be such a family BLOCKBUSTER.
So here I sit all alone in my CELL BLOCK.
I’m suffering a bad case of WRITERS BLOCK,
without a clue the path my mind should take to UNBLOCK.
By the time I get out of here, I’ll need 100 spf SUNBLOCK.
For the BLOCK-BLOCK-BLOCK contest.
Red Faced Moon
Red Faced Moon
What have we done to make the moon blush?
Thrown accolades and love poems,
blamed her for the awakening of the vampires,
the werewolf’s bad hair day.
Perhaps Mars has whispered something,
a sensuous and tempting invite,
a clandestine rendezvous behind Earth’s shadow
to watch the sun rise.
Maybe, just this once,
she stayed too long in the sun,
forgot her sunblock,
had one too many cerveza.

sunblock, 11th grade, confusion, depression, loneliness, lost, mother,
I wish you'd call me pretty
When you're not trying to scare me
I wish i had a sunburn
to be soothed by a cold moon
I wish I'd get asked questions
From people with no answers
I wish I could just float away
Without a "be back soon"
Because nothing's ever open ended
In hallways of closed doors
I'm on an elevator going sideways
On the second floor
Bathing in beige carpet
My mascara tastes so sweet
The smell of sunblock clogs my pores
Everything's left incomplete...
