Old memory written,
new words to a song
Forgotten, remembered
—sung once and then gone
(Dreamsleep: December, 2019)
on the radio;
are songs, my love, not words
to bridge this rift
you are exorcising
memories of love, but why?
Dancing the words to lance the boil
With grace and style but no toil
Watering the soul’s thirsty soil
Poetry sings the mortal coil
The story
Ensnares..
Identification in
The telling may
Remain..
Or it may not
When story
Appears as
Story...
A word can be a sharp-tipped arrow
Its marksmen uses for good or evil
Gentlemen target angels' songs
Scoundrels aim for the devil's
What's happening
And not happening
Simultaneously
Is the appearance
Of the ordinary and
Is unknown and
Unknowable..the
Ordinary unknowable...
Paradox
Boggles the mind..
The boggling is
Fixed in illusory
Separation..so
There is no mind
To boggle..but
This story may
Resonate as
Freedom...
A happy piano plays on,
fingers dance across the keys.
In school I took many lessons,
keys danced happy piano.
Happy keys make for happy day,
keys playing Happy Birthday.

There is a song I know
It's a poem in its own right
I cannot describe it to you
Without the melody sounding trite
I have no way to say it
But to you I implore
Listen to the Avatar's Love
And stay with me forevermore
The words better naked,
the song better clothed
My feelings stripped bare,
my lyrics exposed
I flash and I streak,
the melody warms
Now fully unrobed,
—my song to adorn
(Villanova Pennsylvania: May, 2017)
Life and death
Seem separate
But also may seem
Simultaneous and
Timeless..
Understood and
Beyond understanding..
Life may seem
As searching
For a resonance with
Such a canvas of
Life and death...
What is This?
nothing can be said
apparently
no time and distance
for figuring This out~
language opts out
without subj and obj~
nothing makes sense
nothing to explain
so say nothing
which is everything~~
The words of her song
remained on his lips
duties of the heart with
which he'd not come to grips
The pain that he felt
as they tormented his soul
spurred him on to repentance
renewal of vows ~ marriage whole
Escaping myself,
I ran into the wilderness
Escaping myself,
I ran back through the dawn
Escaping myself,
my shadow had vanished
Until capturing myself
—in the words of your song
(Villanova Pennsylvania: February, 2014)
I
Will Send
All I can
To reach your heart
With a gift of joy
To know you are smiling
Across snow covered mountains
Nothing can stop my messages
Just as the birds are singing their songs
My song will replay my care, forever

As my body stoops with age,
youth lulls upon the page
Where words forever young,
cry willful to be sung
As daylight quickly passes,
I greet night a friend at last
With memories deeply grained
—reborn in verse again
(Villanova Pennsylvania: December, 2016)
To recite it in a Poem,
or sing it loud and strong
Their union an espousal,
one by measure, one by song
Division casts adrift,
as muted sirens fold their wings
This moment reinvented,
—words and melody one thing
(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2017)
The words all come together,
their meaning front to back
Like birds of common feather,
they follow the same tack
Existing for each other,
alone their context gone
All strength inside their union
—where memory turns to song
(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2017)
Acrostic down the side.
A letter starts the new word.
Akrostikhis Greek word.
As hymns by St. Ephrem.
ABC acrostics.
Any letter will do.
A fun way to write poems.

Filling my words with music
the moment took off and flew
All heaven to await its arrival
the Angels and Sirens in view
Filling my words with song
their spirit released once again
The devil to cover his ears
—the past and future in sin
(Villanova Pennsylvania: April, 2018)
WORSHIP WORDS
What meaning is in the message I hear in the psalm
Emotion and euphony both possess a certain charm
But underneath it all one feels a rhythm of existence
A firm pounding beat, with its distinctive resonance
In ancient times it was a song of praise that was sung
Now they are hymns, after the church bells are rung
I’m fighting sleep like Muhammad Ali
Was up so late that it was early
Was listening to music new and old
New Years Eve filled with glitter gold
I was drunk on piano melodies soft
Guitar solos lift your heart high as loft
Song words like hors d oeuvres for my ears
Eating feeding my soul through the years
2025 has left the room by moon
2026 is like a red flower bloom
Opening my eyes with anticipation
A year of hopes and toasts celebration
Like me,
my Poetry is far from perfect
—a verbal oxen gored
Like me,
my words are often frail and broken
—still crying to be heard
In me,
the message has found its student
—to humbly expound
In me,
the truth can accept a birthmark
—for a promise more profound
Unto me,
the burden is left to finish
—my life to pledge headlong
Unto me,
the words now free, unsentenced
—change imperfectly to song
(Villanova Pennsylvania: September, 2016)
Does it matter?
If every song must have an end
does it matter what song I send?
If love's a thing words can't reveal
does it matter what I feel?
If where's not what I want to know
does it matter where I go?
We know loves rarely coincide
and unshared love we all deride.
So, if who and when and where and how
do not matter then or now,
will it matter at the close
what my heart most feels most knows?
But in spite of all, I send to thee
this song of love from here and me.
