The Rain In Spain
The Rain In Spain falls gently on the Plain

In NYC it backs up sewers once again

Creating puddles that take two weeks to drain

Oil slicks abound the terrain

Causing motorcyclists lots of pain

Cursing and Swearing is what sustains

In the Abundance of Late-Running Trains...

Scientific support
"Unfortunately, it’s unrealistic to rescue all wildlife impacted during oil spills." - quote by NOAA on oil-spills
--------------------------------------------------
Even oil spills on ocean surface roars
Grieving the odd dead birds washed up on shores
A few gallons slicks, crude sink
Spillers and Skimmers off sync
Priceless space tools - a gamble on all fours...

morning
Morning

Slumbering in the shallow of sleep
where memories of movies are seen
The shift of the pebbles
nibbled by tiny crabs
senses of songs
“ What was is all about Alfie?”
Repeat itself
saddened by life's vagary
Dreams like oil slicks on the surface
of water-polluted thoughts
thrown into the tidal sand
Sinking into Hypnos's arms
wake, when birds sing
the blue hope

Buddies of Fish
Weather looked upon not contemplating
Shores forgot, wisped away to beaches anew
This place that place, sea of blue
Set close not too far
voices in the wind here we are
Rods set tall and straight here it is
we will wait
Lines tightened, rods a bent
fresh bait with old scent
Slicks rolling in crests of waves
Just beyond a bubbling fish raves
Set the hook reel the line
Buddies of fish it's dinnertime...

Premium Member Somewhere Past the Fallen Limbs
Somewhere past the fallen limbs
Of old tangled oaks and elm
Breaking silence as lighting dims
Rushing whispers split the realm

Mocking silence with a hush
It slicks the stones of shallow brook,
Exalting in babble with a gush,
I turn to take a humble look.

Searching fluid sounds of creation
Articulating His wordless voice,
Tears fall dryly at my sublimation
To waters endless song , rejoice.

Flying Above the Water
fly me away
high above the waves

looking down into the depths
jellyfish cresting waves
minnows in the shallows
silvery slicks of scales
salted air dotted
with sprinkly sand

painted sea shells
crabs coddling the sand,
sealing pacts with the water.

eels electric in nature
spiraling driftwood
winds whip like cream up around my body.

Heaven's scent
glowing ringlets reflected
in the water

Stars in charge
coming home to a place to be....

Greasy When Wet
Some poetic thoughts bubble
to the top of your deep waters.

There they congregate, bobbing up and down
forming slicks, oily smears that linger
only to accuse you later when you return to them.

There is a detergent for cleaning them up
it comes in a small spray can
labeled 'revise, edit, or delete.'

Fore heaven's sake
don't let them burst and spill
over the pristine innocence of a page.

Many whopping environmental disasters
begin with a wee smudge....

Wintering Tropics
The sun is long in it's shadows today
spreading it's virtue 'cross my living room floor
Generic beige carpet is suddenly enriched
with luxury touching each fiber and stitch
And here I'm lounged out -
with my eyes closed just thinking
about lion fish and their stiff poisonous spines
when suddenly sunshine lifts cracks in my lids
and turns them to colors of fresh oil slicks
I dream.
This day in winter is exactly what it should be
Hello to the Tropics and hello to me......

Storm Warning
Overcast the day
  painted slate blue and gray
taps on the roof gently fall
as the ground slicks rains pall.

Cool the February calm
with icy rain the seasons balm
stealth and slow the cloud cover
  waiting patient hold at hover.

Wintry mix of rain, ice and snow
sweeps light across the misty flow
easing in throughout the morning
   marking time in solemn warning.

Start to a new week
  Monday morning creeks
winter's promise foretold
  a stormy day to unfold....
