Premium Member Sunset
Mosquitoes subsiding
we torque the last nut
air it up
check the pressure
and gently replace the wheel cover.

Drenched in sweat
with bumpy skin having

satiated the skeeters

we drive off into the sunset
to test our work.

It works!
So do we.

Premium Member River of Life
Living river glistens and laughs
teasing, as it swirls past eddies
             slipping freely over smooth stones
                      pushing tadpoles and skeeters 'round
         meandering through sun dappled meadows
splashing forth fluid songs, making trees smile.

The Porch Light
The porch light is an invitation
With an open bar,
Attracting flying critters
To exactly where you are

Or will be, if you left the house,

Yet, with clouds of moths and gnats and skeeters
Swarming 'round your head,
You'll conclude that tripping in the dark
You might prefer instead....

More Woe For Florida
More Woe To Florida

By Elton Camp

Living in Florida sure ain't grand
There's skeeters, flies and sand

Lotta old folks with leathery skin
And house prices dropped again

The tap water is yellow and foul
Gators and snakes make 'em howl

If the sea level happens to rise
Then underwater much of it lies

Now it may have a double punch
A hurricane & a Republican bunch

How much more can they take
Before they get a bad belly ache...

Premium Member Help Cutting the Grass
thought i'd scoop a hole
then fill it in (repeat myself)
saw a first dragon fly of the season
the second day of 1/2 through a 12 month year
12 seconds to 2:12 (today)
such gorgeous creatures
people entice these beings themselves
what with black flies and skeeters
attracted to human animal sweat
those flying dragons are our friends
they only want what bugs us most
(kinda like...nature's door to door flying doctors : )
