Freedom of Self Expression

Freedom of Self Expression

True freedom
is freedom to train oneself by harnessing free will
to free oneself
From false freedom's illusion.

Darkness-The Hour of Self-Expression

Darkness
A locus for expression of tears
Muffled thoughts grow vociferous
Suppressed emotions arise uprighteous
Societal demands and self interests lock horns
only to be put to rest before dawn

Premium Member Self Expression

Color flows from the void and hands swing, sway across a canvas; to the music of the life; erecting a universe. The pulse of existence beats out its rhythm and soul awakes into being.

Ode To the Grammar Nazis

I abhor
Those that feel it’s their chore
To toilet paper my creative door
With their opinions that lack color
I’d rather hear a walrus snore
If not for self expression what’s poetry for

Premium Member A Predilection For the Helping Professions

I have a predilection
      for the helping professions
      As well, for artistic self-expression

I'll take my leave with this confession
Other 'pursuits' are no more than repression
~ That lead inexorably to depression

Invisible

I am quiet like a mouse.
N ever raise my tone of
V oice or express myself.
I learned quickly to
S upress self expression.
I n case it incurred aggression.
B ecause it was obvious you
L iked me under your thumb and
E motionally abusing someone.

A Poetic Legacy

My fortune
self-expression

To this
the Lord has willed

For other men
it’s land or gold

By verses
I’m instilled

My riches
so enamored

To couplets
I belong

And leave
my only legacy

In meter, rhyme
— and song

Positive Thoughts

Positive thoughts
Mind over matter
Energy no longer scattered
Laws of attraction
Vibrational satisfaction
In every direction
Life destination
Preserves self expression
On the path of inspiration
Uplifts spiritual enlightenment
With magnetic reflection
Mirrored in joy

desperation and solitude
freedom of self expression
sent me into modern day
slavery a victim of plagery
I began using my slave name
kinggirlchild I found my way home
empty and shallow my heart
racing I fell to my knees crawling
with pages in hand in this fair land
oh how grand an American poet survived

Truly Slap In Faces

Truly Slap In Faces

Did discover that Russia is a death trap,
And to the rest of world a major mishap;
Take advantage of;
No one ever love;
In faces Putin and Trump are truly a slap.

Jim Horn

My knowledge of poetry is limited
but still do not limit my self expression
and thinking exhibited in my poetry.

Mixed Feelings

Somehow I find myself in this state A feeling, a moment I sincerely appreciate But when it comes to self-expression I am lost—falling in a sick depression I cannot express myself the way I want These thoughts they grind, they tear—they haunt. . . If I could tell you how I feel It still…wouldn’t feel real

Riches From Writing

No, you probably won't
make it into the
    class of the millionaires
my friends
       Through your self expression
  Yet I believe you
should (as the late Eddie Birchmore said) step up to
the mike and speak your peace
    Everyone may not
like to hear what you
have to say
But have a liitle chutzpah(Yiddish for "nerve")

Predawn of Life

Stillness of the night
Dark, foreboding, searching
Silent wish for a changing
To break the nothing.
A lone energy
Moves about, imagining
The way to self expression
Plan in the making.
Sacrificing all
To end this darkness, and call
The might by love that creates
And the Force took shape.

Poetry 101

(A female lawyer whispers)

Some of my narcissistic plaintiffs write for greatness
But the most divine I serve

Write simply for self-expression

To embrace their sacrifices
Personal experiences and inner freedoms

So my question is

Are you

A.

A freedom plaintiff

Or

B.

A narcissistic native?

Premium Member At Rainbows End

Miracles can happen at the end of a rainbow. For the curious, for the daring, for the courageous who ride a rainbow, there’s a reward greater than gold. World beyond imagination, universes of elation, songs spun long ago... for all things repeat, though nothing bad will you meet; evil, you’ll defeat, at rainbow’s end.

Bohemian Rhapsody

A life lived from pure feelings
and self expression,
brings joy and a sense
of peace,
even in the middle of chaos,
to live a beautiful, uncensored,
life, is what God wanted for all
his children,
Being able to revel in the authenticity
of ourselves,
finding acceptance when our inner
demons appear,
allows us to exhale and view the
love that surrounds us.

Boxes

I refuse to fit into
The boxes they made for me

Days will pass
Over millions of minutes, and
Every time you look
Somewhere out there,
New boxes are made for
The ones who don’t understand.

Maybe I’m wrong, but
All these boxes are imaginary.
They define everything about
The boxes they put you in.
Every box holds expectations, and
Right inside them is where they say you go

What Have We Become?

This is the age for which we live.

Where innocence are gone.
Truth has been silenced.
Self expression is nothing more than peer pressure.
Self respect lay in the hands of those that read news stand tabloids.
Inner beauty is for novels.
Passion ends in court.
Death is just life.
Addiction is just away to get away with a crime.
Abuse has no shame.
Guilt has become a pleasure.
              And
Love? What is that?
