The Takeover

The fences and billboards
  disappear in the sanctum

As theory is abandoned
  —and true knowledge takes hold

My place to be free

Skunks In Bombay

Skunks have religious sanctum in Bombay
Protected from hunting both night and day
Skunk whisper was good
But misunderstood
When in skunk language they said, "Let us spray!"

Sanctum
Within the soul
Bedchamber once hidden
Curtain torn from top to bottom

sea of life
pulsates on passion waves
         sapphire serenity drapes its depth
I sink slaked
within the submerged soul

Premium Member First Funeral For a Five Year Old

I
close my
eyes in haste,
one’s body gone
into the inner sanctum of the ground.
Gone, gone forever into paradise.
are you joking
I’m asking,
in the
ground?

Generational Confusion

She wouldn't allow me to enter her sanctum,
Due to my affliction entitled kindness
For she wanted tough love
A touch of insanity and a pinch of absurdness,
Kindness was my weakness
Never mind my apparent strengths

Pleasant touch I miss
Emerging from your embrace
Alone in abyss
Calm allure of love I trace
Enshrined in sanctum of peace.

Fill Me With Your Sorrows

fill me with the sorrows
of your love
let me please borrow
your tears of love

angst that burns
your tender heart
silly fears, in the
sacred sanctum of

fill me with the sorrows

Sanctum Path

Serenading peace within,
lull me in thine hushing tide
for fate is now a foe.

Lose me in your endless fathoms,
instill within a glint of hope.
Raise me to the lofty heights to lose all fear
below.

Till fate above me shines once more.

Imagine
you can see
what your ears hear
and they see
what your eyes watch
as you dwell
in the
Sanctum Sanctorum
of prayer
while communing
with The Most High
whose returned gifts
are beyond
all other words
except:
“Halleluiah…Amazing Grace!”

Premium Member I drove the meaning of the poem home

I drove the meaning of the poem home,
dropped her at her front door, then drove home alone.
And I never heard much more about her after that,
except a rumor that some scholarly types had made a sanctum of her flat,
where twice a month they meet to chew her fat.

Take a Trip

Walk into my third dimension
The verbal stream of consciousness
My inner sanctum
Fixate on the journey ahead
Luring your normal thinking habits into asphyxiation
Seep into my abyss of endless knowledge
While your mind and soul wade through my psyche
Oh its an entity you'll yearn for

Touch

Soft touches against her face
She squirms, wiggles, and refuses to stay in one place
Startled by the affection
Caught off guard by his ********
Her libido burns with lust
She says aloud, "we are alone, it's just us"
His hands visits her inner sanctum
With her head held back in pleasure, she gladly thanks him
Form: Rhyme

Fortress

From merciful dreams I rise
to the sound of a man's curious calls
to take brief respite in conversation
held from fortress walls

The sanctum of my heart
steadfast and closed in fear

A cold calm rears its ugly head
to froth at the mouth like a mad dog
to protect its turf from
the threat of some man's lust

Premium Member Spectrum of Serenity

The fulfilled life sees Through the longing lens Of the crystal clear mind the spent sun sink in hued splendor. The spectrum of serenity suffuses the sanctum of soul in the twilight hour. ______________ January 13, 2023 Contest : Bitesize Poem No. 59 Sponsored by : Line Gauthier

A Wife To Warm the Home

A spot of rain
The flowers bloom
Masking the blocked drain
I retreat to my mind's inner room

I consider the children's clutter
The warm inner sanctum of home
My heart with thanks is a flutter
No need for my mind to roam

A man must give thanks
For leaving the single life
Quitting the single ranks
Having gotten a wife
