As empty as the future
So is a soaked page
Whose ink has run off.

A new and boundless decade
Awaits my pen's touch.

White Goose Feather

White Goose Feather

What I will like is a white goose feather,
On back of bright goose clumped together;
Pretty and white,
Day and night;
Water does run off during any weather.

Premium Member blow away

absorbing you
like thirsty earth

hard, brittle ground
it isn't easy

so many rain drops
run off
before you
get under my skin

now
I could be
saturated

and you

dry up and

blow away

Grandma said she would take care of the kids now
I knew things were tight, gramps had run off with the cow
and a woman, but we were sworn to secrecy about that
Grandma took her anger out on us. Now I have to wear a hat

The Giant's Causeway

The wind takes an eardrum,
and fills it with hail.

The waves crash beyond me
on an unbeaten trail.

There are men here who think
they’ve found victory and wealth,

but the giant’s run-off,
and left for his health.

No Honest Person

There’s no such thing as an honest person.
You can’t find trust anywhere.
It got up and run off years ago.
Never realizing there’s no trust.
Suddenly one of your friends betray you.
And that my friend is all I have to say.

A Winters Field

Out in a winter’s field
My camera takes photos
Of white tailed deer
Running about

Clicking…
As one by one
They run off
Into the woods

Until…
Out in a winter’s field
My camera takes photos
Of an empty winter’s field

Premium Member what is that smell

I climbed up to a limb and sat under a pretty purple owl.
“What is that smell?” He asked his wife. “Smells kind of foul.”
I had never been ostracized or belittled by an owl before.
I decided to jump down and run off with my dog, Seymour.

I Am a Giant

I am a giant; Piercing the clouds
Entering orbit, outsizing the sounds
I am a giant, high so high,
Everytime i begin to fly
I'm off on the run, off on the run,
An average man so close to the sun.
Am i a giant or just living a lie?
An average man, high, so high.

Premium Member Time---Where Did It Go

TIME

Where did time go, did it hide in a box?
Or did he run off and elope with sexy Goldilocks!

It's great to pen, even beyond silliness.
Then you can giggle and do dance of poetic happiness.

Premium Member the clever Motorcycle Cat

On a road trip to Des Moines he bought a sidecar with wheels.
Filled it with cheese and peanut butter, mice favorite meals.
The mice had a heyday, jumping aboard, eating their fill, having fun.
Too fat to run off, they sat there, while he ate gobbled them up one by one.

Premium Member deadly rough skinned newt warning

Stay away from a rough-skinned newt
Their poison skin is deadly, it will make you toot.
Better to linger near an angry bandicoot.
Or go to Sam’s house and watch him play his flute.
If the newt comes near you, run off and hide.
His poison skin is deadlier than cyanide.

Premium Member My Cousin Cy

prancing dancing pudd’n and pie
boys run off, I’ll tell you why
fear of failure to even try
there goes one now, my cousin Cy

He is terrified of Patty McBly
Her beauty is known to make boys cry
I watch him run and yell “run faster Cy!”
When he tells this tale it will be a lie.
