No where to hide.
The pain just keeps rushing back in with the tide.
Some days emotions run low,
other days emotions are high.

and it will always be,

The irony is,
I let them do so,

I let them get to me,
Crack me open,
Like a broken egg,
I let them close,

I let myself run low,
Let them push all my buttons,
And snapped at each one,
Until I finally lost it,

And the calm,
After the tsunami,
The aftermath,
Is so much worse

Spines on its hills
As gases run low

Lava down its slopes
Total destruction in its path

Fiery bursts of black ash
Burst through its mountain top

Ash fills the air with murky dust
Form miles away

Lava destroys neighboring life
Plants, Insects, animals, and people alike...

remind me
of other things.
Hopes run low
and stars bellow
yet the sun will shine
on what is mine.

As I was headed home, a squirrel
Passed me going south.
I noticed him because he had
An acorn in his mouth.

Since winter’s not approaching,
I am curious to know
If squirrels still amass a stash
For when supplies run low.

Or was that nut for dinner
From his daily market run?
Or a late addition to a meal
His family’d just begun?

I have no way to ascertain
What’s stored within his nest
So, like many other mysteries,

     mechanical contraptions
     designed to fail
So, they take your money
     and hold their product
     from your grasp.
You stomp and scream into deaf slots
     to no avail,
     leave a post-it note
     for whomever--
But expectations run low that you will
     receive a refund,
     your product,
     or a coupon
For a future purchase
     from a...
     guess what...
