finding his old letters
at the bottom of my drawer
caught me off-guard ~
it took me a minute
to catch my breath

Unforgettable Misery
Unforgettable misery
Invaded his mind
Like a decaying disease
While his lies resurfaced
Wanting to be noticed
And as his true colors
Bled through his skin
He was painted in an array
Of vivid deception...

Chateau De La Gardine
Flourished, the vintage affection of elegant talent
drizzled lightly in the exploration of a drowning yacht,
 resurfaced, only through amiable bailing,
continual, until the waves desist,
the ocean arid,
then lingers,
submerged in the dip of the shoreline....

Premium Member Sound Asleep- I Wish
My nagging headache has resurfaced again,
a grumbling stomach as well,
the cold night has given me chattering teeth
and a murmuring heart gives me hell.
My breathing's developed a whistle-like wheeze
and tinnitus with matching tone,
I can't get to sleep with these noises I make-
why can't I just leave me alone?...

Haunting Hues
The walls felt like it was caving in,
The coldness of the room gave me shivers,
The dimness of the room that once comforted me
Now leaves me distraught.
Stepping in, I felt a surge of anxiety;
The bad memories that I had once suppressed resurfaced.
And it felt like I was going back
To those days I've tried to forget....

On
...and the warnings rang strong
...and the cauldron wheezed
...and the magma lapped at strapping branches,
genetically equipped, with a passion,
for protecting the bulb
...and the poet rhymed on

...and the emperor, Nero, has resurfaced
...and the swinging, singing, stinging swarm
cycled back

...and the funk of it reached fecal proportions,
surpassing sweetness of rotting racoons
on the roadside
...and the poet rhymed on....

The Dream
Unexpectedly,
tired and stretching out from the day
I fell asleep.

A restless, tossing interlude
in the day that continued without end
and reality was but a dream

Too soon the images truned
 where life and dream
were inseparable.

Standing there
 your specter presence
appeared as if it had never left.

The melody played
 that old favorite song shared
suddenly resurfaced to play.

The embrace so sweet,
 the dance so familiar
awakened quick then gone....

I Carry With Me, Mistakes
In my life I carry with me my mistakes..
On a tough road I have learned there are
no second takes..
I have picked up mistakes like a snow ball
rolling down a hill..
Admiting I was wrong or and being sorry
was a tough swallow of that pill..
Like a broom I tried to sweep away the past..
But was always amazed how it resurfaced so fast..
But I can't get cocky while the sun follows my way..
One wrong turn and that snowball will make it grey..

"I carry with me" contest...
