I Researched How To Modernize
I wanted to be like Afrikaners
Admired their wars and wins
Then I saw their scars and manners:
"Folk are folk; some know SPIN!"...

Premium Member New Year Dilemma
There once was a scientist named Fermor
Resolved in New Year he won’t booze for sure
Got dead drunk on year-end night
With wild wife he had a fight
She left him, he researched which loss was more.

Flat Earthers
Flat Earthers

I’ve heard some rubbish in my time,
But this one beats the lot,
Some people believe the Earth is flat,
How crazy, what twaddle and rot.

If only they’d researched history books,
Look up to the stars and swear,
It’s obvious to all who study these things,
The Earth isn’t flat, it’s square....

Work and Learning
I've finished my work for the day
Not like I had much to do anyway
I mainly researched a history of man
style and ways of a Roman

I also looked into a class
Of Lapoeira Rhythmic in every pass

I wish to read another book
About Cato and Marco, Cadimins the crook

Tomorrow is new light on the matter
Not just noise and mindless clatter...

Premium Member Soul Mate On Earth
God told me my soul mate in Paradise
Fr. Jesus (Jess) Labor
Filipino is he
Supported him when he’s here

Was crazy on internet
Fell for the military man, Austin
Childhood friends researched Gen. Austin S. Miller
Scammer he is

Asked God for a family
Skeptical because different
Met this great man
Said has a daughter

Thought to be impossible
Nothing is impossible to God...

Premium Member Probably Not a Barn Owl
Is it a hoot owl? Someone queried.
I had no idea. Wondering myself.
There are so many kinds of owls.
I had researched them.
It is probably not a barn owl I guessed.
For the barn had been torn down.
Two nights later I discovered my error.
Staring at me from the top of an elm tree was a large barn owl.
She looked at me in an accusing way.
How long will it take to rebuild that barn? I asked my husband....

Premium Member Nesting Season
I don't particularly enjoy this time of year.
It's nesting season over here.
Baby birds fall from their nest out of the trees,
featherless and blind unable to see.
I take all I find back home with me
and attempt to save them hopefully.
I've researched the method and know the technique
for feeding baby birds safely and properly,
but every single one always dies on me
leaving me crushed as crushed can be.
I wish I knew someone who does this professionally....

Premium Member Looking For Me
I have looked at family photos and researched the
Family tree.

I'm not looking for family members I am just looking
For me.

I recognise my name in a mirror I see my face

But who I am I do not know I'm just trying to find
My place.

The name I have lived with is the only one I have
Known

But hidden deep in my past are the secrets that have
Grown.

So who am I really I'm asking but you will not say.

So I will keep looking for me until my life fades
Away....

Premium Member Conspiracy Theory
Call me a conspiracy theorist, call me a liar
Cast stones to set my soul on fire
It will not change what I choose to see
I don't consider my brain to be less than thee
I've investigated, researched and done my part
To sort through information from the start
Hoping to make decisions that are best
Fight through corruption and let go of the rest
I do not judge those who differ with what they decide
But, false accusations will not make me run and hide

Premium Member amazing facts
here is an amazing book of facts
researched facts, real facts
not alternative facts.
eye roll.

I take notes because facts fascinate me.
the brain is not fully formed until you are….
I guess 12
wrong!
the answer is 25.
What?
I had two children before my brain was fully formed?

a spider’s brain is too big for its head,
so its brain oozes down into its legs.
ugh!

cockroaches can live without a head or a brain.
I knew this already
my cousin dated plenty of cockroaches...

Premium Member Call Me M
Middle of the road
I have come to be called
Debate training in college
Did a number on me
Little gift from the team – T-Shirt
Embroidered with the letter “M”

Other schools’ teams thought it meant Monmouth*
Fooled they were

They didn’t understand
How carefully I researched
Each side of an issue

Run if you see big “M”
On her way to you
And prepare for verbal volleyball
Devonshire will find a lot to debate with you

Entry for Nancy’s Alphabet Soup Contest
*Monmouth University was my college...
