Pallor of a country worn The woodshed all forsaken With God our freedoms were assured By governments we're taken

Freud's Mirror
Freud’s mirror

I am looking at myself in Freud’s mirror
The reflection is not of a white haired bearded sage
But of a falling face of middle age
My face in his mirror
When he saw himself there – did he see the id?
Or was it the repressive super-ego?

Punished
Crippled conscience....
 ....conflicted karma
Gazing into shards of a mirror
shattered...scattered at my feet
 Likeness reflected
distorted and tortured

I choke a sob
  as it struggled to escape
strangled it's existence
  cradled pain in repressive embrace
Guilt crashes like waves
  retreating into internal undertow
...preying on souls inability to swim

Repent, retreat
 shackled ankles~bloody feet
Head hangs low, sullen
  Absorbed this condemned atmosphere...
