Day of the Turkey

They say at the Lonesome Dove ranch
A turkey flew up to a branch
Invited to lunch
It pooped on the bunch
But it learned not to mess with Blanche!

Premium Member I Dropped a Fork

I dropped a fork down my recliner chair
I know it’s somewhere way down there
I would not go after it, even on a dare
For fear there is a mouse ranch under there.

Premium Member Miss Piggy Or Me

An old cowpoke on a ranch near Cheyenne
Is Wyoming’s main Muppet fan
His wife’s mad as can be:
It’s Miss Piggy or me!
He sighs: Don’t worry Kermit’s--her man

a little hoarse
as i ride my

Premium Member A Singer With a White Glove

There once was a singer with a white glove
Who concealed kinky expressions of love
   At his 'Neverland Ranch'
The weird stuff made folks blanch
For the love in his glove came with a shove

Premium Member Oceans Rise - Fish Shrugs

The fish swam around
  curious what he found
A brand-new ranch house
  floating in Puget Sound

Nothing for him there
  so he just shrugged
Unlike the poor humans
  their home waterlogged

Waiting in Fear

the sun, having been fixed
on the barbed wires of my ranch,
is in a state of fear and shock,
cause it has blocked the night's path;
that's why it will have to be exposed
to the night's wrath

she'z got no monz

.

               yeah she do
                     just
               send her to
                 my ranch
                      i'll
               thick'n it up
                   fer ya

Monroe

Monroe was always up before dawn got too deep
cookin' coffee and bacon while we're still asleep
When five o'clock rolled around he'd ring that damn bell
Many a morning I'd liked to send him to hell

Premium Member Apple Worm Salad

I had an apple
It had a worm in it
So I diced it up evenly
Added croutons and place him in a salad
Ahh! nothing like a little protein

The Yucca

Long slender blades, sort of a cactus, kissing cousin to a palm tree
Indians years ago, used to make soap from it
On our ranch in New Mexico, we called it "Soap Weed"

Some say that he was the "Robin Hood" for the poor in Old Mexico
Others say he was a tequila drinking horse thief, murderer to boot

The Chivera (Goat Dog...True Story)

Once on a ranch in Texas, a new pup was born, the mother had died
An old Mexican man that worked there, put the pup on a nanny goat
As time went on, the dog stayed with the goat herd day and night, the dog thought
    it was a goat

Great lore
of yore

Big lands’
ranch hands

No work
to shirk

Tending;
mending

Bale hay -
okay!

Cows raised
Grass grazed

Horse spurred
helps herd

Strong fence
makes sense

Bull ride
gets tried

For kicks -
rope tricks!

Happy Valley

Exuberating, elevating, rehabilitating.
Aah! Exhilerating in this "Happy Valley."
Far from the top,
but I feel sky high.
Life's B-B-B Boom's been enhanced
since I've arrived.
Thank the lord i didn't pass my chance
to visit this "Dynamite Ranch".

Premium Member The Ride

She rode unsaddled on the mighty horse.
Her hazel hair flew haphazardly and coarse.
They crossed the rippling river, laughing with flair.
They rode to the ranch, her husband waited there.
Yet she needed his love and climbed quickly upstairs.

Premium Member She Is Back

Karla the kickback kindred kinesthetic witch from Kickapoo County
Ran back to Rustic Ranch when she kicked out Murray the Mountie.
The way she was running, we thought there might be a bounty.
She has a wildly weird wonderful reputation here in Kickapoo County.

Back at the ranch
The 'new normal'
is a case
of Bud
in the basement fridge
Meanwhile
A/C grinding away
TV flickering
Clumps of munchies
stuck to the upholstery
Kids glued to devices
whirring away --
Hey, Where'd Hope go?
Conversation-enders
abound

Choices For Dipsters

forgot to ask for honey
what's a chicken nugget to do?
maybe marshmallow creme
A-1 or ranch dressing
caramel or chocolate drizzle
leftover guacamole
cheese queso beats plain ketchup
just off the top of my head
on the tip of my tongue
