It poured heavy rain
During the early evening
The wind was howling
The boughs of the trees dancing
To the beat of pouring rain

Lightning burns the dry tree,
that dried due to lack of rain,
it's death came due to absence,
but presence is to be blamed

heavy rain doth fall
so disliked by nearly all

Sully loves the classic chicken roasts
‘A perfect dozen a day’, he boasts
Meenie loves milk
Foods of that ilk
‘Cat is lesser animal’, he posts
Sully/Sullivan= my pet ghost who lives in a rain tree
Meenie=my pet female cat

Lashed by rain
I sheltered
beneath
its wind bent
height
in its hurl
of leaves
and whip slap
of bark
against
a huge trunk
below
its creak
and rising
roar
to a sudden
crack
in fear
the better
choice
would have been
to get wet.

Wind, as her final rainstorm gathers,
gathers up the orphaned leaves
Leaves some tucked in between the rocks,
rocks some to sleep beneath the trees
Trees, moved so by her (rain and all)
all bow and though not known to cry,
cry now, while silvered leaves of fall
fall as they watch their Zephyr die

I have many koalifications,
Numbed by gum leaves, stupefaction,
Glazed by arid summer drought,
Real hot today, there's no doubt,
What's this? Black storm clouds?
Who said clouds were allowed?
Now there's rain a'drenching,
Oh, it's stopped, not worth mentioning,
There's a eucalyptus petrichor,
I'll daze now, did it rain at all?

MIRACULOUS DOWNPOUR
Exuberant, miraculous downpour spreading its wings ,forming a canopy above
Seems benevolent Almighty showers hugs and cuddles
Breezy, green bushes head over heels in love
I immerse in healing bubbles and scurries off all troubles.

The pensiveness of the sky
is broken by the cry of a crow,
by trees distilling intimacy
and moist, vibrant expectancy.
Violets, ferns, and birches
share life-giving vapors.
The chalk-bleak horizon
and pungent, poignant odors
whisper sonorous secrets.
The visitor is enveloped
in this pithy, soulful world,
all cells saturated
with a suggestive sustenance.

As if my sorrow knows no bound
Its roots are deep in my heart’s ground.
Its branches are high up in the sky
Its fruits are sweet no one can defy.
Its leaves are green as if it won’t die
It’s like a rain tree so it can cry.
Its flowers have very sweet fragrance
It attracts people from a distance.
Its flowers are no doubt colorful
God trims it with His gardening tool.

Leaves of August glisten from the rain
I notice a tinge of color across the ridge
The leaves need moisture to sustain
Leaves of August glisten from the rain
‘Til late mid-October they must remain
Over the ridge, understand, just a smidge
Leaves of August glisten from the rain
I notice a tinge of color across the ridge.

chattering chirpers
rambunctiously racing
fireflies like little lanterns
wee wind and raindrops
luscious leafy lovelies
nine p.m. and uproarious
all this called to me, as
I was doing nothing at all

A heavy fog grasps each plant
Its tenacles wrap around
Laden with moisture it leaves damp
Creeps and crawls without a sound
A golden sun peeks through gray clouds
Exposes thick silver fog
Rises slowly higher in sky
Silent the rain tree frog
Which presence will win the scene
The fog rising from the creek?
Condensation from the cool rain
Or the sun which slowly peeks?

A golden rain tree caught my eye,
in a book of trees I planned to buy.
I imagined when summer time came,
floating yellow flower petals,

down like rain.
I know I have no yard to see,
my flowering yellow clustered tree.
But still my book of trees is there,
and falling petals jewel my hair.

From tree clouds above, vivid colors are falling,
Mellow summer days have now, all gone by crawling!
The sun has disappeared, and left a strange storm,
As engrossing as honeybees, gathered into a swarm.
Colors in the trees, in the air and on the ground,
As if at any moment, in beauty we shall be drowned!
Vibrant beauty is goodbye, in nature's native tongue,
Either in sunset hours or dawn, or luscious autumn!

Tree,
whose bony fingers
stretched above gloved branches,
you danced in the sunlight,
elegantly bowing
for scampering squirrels
and gifts of birdhouse rings.
Tree,
whose springtime blossoms
scattered petals
for make-believe weddings,
you caught up children
and hugged them tightly
in games of hide and seek.
Tree,
I run my fingers
along your weeping scars
where Earth’s fury tore
your hand from mine.
Splintered memories,
I have less air to breath.

Diamond Rain
Behind the majestic maple tree
The sky is changing to gray
You hear the deep rumbling warning
From thunder not far away
A sure sign it’s coming your way
There is a thickness in the air
Little drops of rain hit the ground
The rain arrives
But to my surprise
A beauty of nature
Sparkling after the rain
On the pine tree you see
Little droplets of diamonds
Shine on
