Leaves of August

Leaves of August glisten from the rain I notice a tinge of color across the ridge The leaves need moisture to sustain Leaves of August glisten from the rain ‘Til late mid-October they must remain Over the ridge, understand, just a smidge Leaves of August glisten from the rain I notice a tinge of color across the ridge.

Only yesterday I was looking at our neighbours tree and noticed a change in colour, in a few weeks autumn will be with us. Tom

It surely will be, Tom. As early as August in our part of the country we begin to notice the earliest signs of autumn.

I did for many, many years, but now I live on a hill overlooking the Ohio River. One cannot see it from my house, but I just go to the bottom of the hill and I'm in the riverfront park.
