Leaves of August glisten from the rain I notice a tinge of color across the ridge The leaves need moisture to sustain Leaves of August glisten from the rain ‘Til late mid-October they must remain Over the ridge, understand, just a smidge Leaves of August glisten from the rain I notice a tinge of color across the ridge. It surely will be, Tom. As early as August in our part of the country we begin to notice the earliest signs of autumn.

I did for many, many years, but now I live on a hill overlooking the Ohio River. One cannot see it from my house, but I just go to the bottom of the hill and I'm in the riverfront park.
