Therapy
Therapy

In my hand, I squeeze
this trinity of walnuts tighter till

louder than that tot who just
rapped her elbow

off the radiator, I can hear
clearer than the sirens

I’ve heard all these years
real fear as walnuts whimper

Private Del
troop!
the lieutenant screamed
inches from the face of Del
how do you expect
to make spec four
with a damn rolls royce
radiator cap in your locker

looking straight into the looey's face
returned I wouldn't give up
that radiator cap
to make spec four
anytime, anywhere, anyplace
and smiled broadly,
Sir!!

(Yes, he did steal it one drunken night)...

Double Waffle
DOUBLE WAFFLE

Russel Crowe in metal armor clothing needs sequel to GLADIATOR
Schwartzenegger, the all-metal guy, needs sequel to TERMINATOR

Both could be dressed entirely in clothing of metal
And act tough, giving off a lot of hot air to show their mettle,

From time to time letting off steam.
Both these guys could make a good team

In their ultimate sequel movie - RADIATOR....

Meditation
On my day off, there is
the gym
afternoon mass
a walk with a friend.
But what about sitting still
in my chair by the window,
letting every truck that comes by
and rattles the floor
be,
along with the sound of heat pumping from the radiator?
In the other room, the clock on the wall ticks. Each stroke like a wine glass shattering against the wall.
The ice-maker in the fridge talks to me.
All beautiful
and terrifying....

The Bohemian Life
THE BOHEMIAN LIFE

Mess of last night’s dishes not washed up
Saucer with a mis-matched cup
Caged kitchen hamster gnaws
Cornflake-box on his roof over paws
Window sill crowded with green plants
Radiator drying washed pants
Toaster doesn’t work well
Teabag jar with curious smell

Delicious dinner, nicest tea
Bread and jam the most tasty
Soft music of Sinatra
Conversation about Sumatra...

Premium Member Agony
This was pain like none I'd had before
from ground up felt like I had been impaled
I leaned unsteadily against the door
fists tightly clenched, through gritted teeth inhaled.
The need to cry out was hard to suppress
in silence, cursed all things from earth to sky
until at last the agony grew less
and fiery tempered thoughts had passed me by.
It will happen again, yes, this I know,
on bedroom radiator stub my toe....

I Like It Hot
You can tell our almighty creator
I’m her biggest winter hater
Turn up the heat, turn on the radiator
I’m leaving the north sooner than later
Taking my wife and my daughters
Way down south to clearer waters
Going to stay a while at the Latin Quarters
Sipping on wine and tavern porters
Spending our days shopping and prancing
Relaxing at night dining and dancing
And when the vacation comes to an end
We’ll make sure next year we’ll do it again...
