Premium Member The Book of You

“The book of you is complicated…
how shall I read it?“ I purred…
“By turning my pages slowly”…she grinned…
“and savoring every word.”

TODAY

I sat silently
             ......as a cat purred
                                     .......in my presence

He hatched from an egg, Froggy the cow,
He sometimes barked, or purred ‘meow’
On May 37, the month of Noctember
He tunnelled inside, and went into slumber

Each Word Often Occurred

Each Word Often Occurred

What I heard was God's voice in each word,
They all around happened and had occurred;
Wag dog tail;
Start to sail;
Also, heard Him each time when cats purred.

Kitty Limerick Five

Kitty Limerick Five

How much time would it have took?
To teach my kitty to read a book
In some of the old familiar ways
And to Go give little kitty praise
While he purred beside a brook.

Fun With 'P'

Along a pebbled path,
A panther pressed his paws,
Paying pure attention to,
The placement of his paws.
Pretending to be placid,
(pausing as to play),
The panther purred with pleasure,
As he pounced upon his prey.

Kitten

Kitten ( Pleiades k )

Kitty purred out loud some
Kind of cry for mother
Known for his sweet cuteness
Keen to learn how to hunt
Kept concentration hissed
Kiss of death for his prey
King of his future pride.

Premium Member Like To Be Kissed

music laced
             like fine silk ribbons.

     voice purred,
         eyes wandered,
             heart pounded.

     hungered
         places
              perfume touched,

      desired to kiss.

         orchestral stars played
moon and shadows did a dance
                          cat purred in cadence

Inferred Occurred and Cured

what we have heard inferred
this was the word which occurred
reassured could be cured

(with terror endured)
(while on trip we toured)
(while attending herd)
(mentioned by a bird)
(completely absurd)
(being a numb skull)
(said by when cat purred)

Premium Member In the Alley of Dark

in the alley of dark
quietly I walked suspicious
heard eerie howls of the winds voice
wagging my tail cautious
I purred and I ran away scared

Premium Member Aurora Was Getting Her Groove On

Aurora was getting her groove on.
Ta Dah Ta Dah Ta Dah Ta Dah!
Dancing in front of the mirror.
Take that and that and that and that!

Since she had come out to grandma
And found an admirer and advocate
Nothing could stop her from being her best her-self.
She purred as she danced.

When Night Had Veiled My Foe

Like a great parodied indolent
Such illusions of meaningless digressions
Compliant with a game of chance
Purred for the sun to pass
And built a twilight barricade
Till hunger drew slack
Then like a flack of mottled light
Round beneath it
Time in hours
It moved the world..

Premium Member Veiled

Were those soft veiled thoughts you purred
those of promises or threats
truth told I knew I didn’t care.
I heed your eyes as each word
melts like smoke from cigarettes
into your dark clouded snare
that shrouds desire and intent.
I glad fell into your trap
and am, but your finger snap
away from love’s true torment.

Premium Member A Ramshackle Faith

If the moonless night
slept, sheepish it'd be.
Strange, fresh dude not cool
chit chat about him
awkward and painful.

Where is a loo
or rear window
to crawl out of,
I'm so tempted.

Bragged he loathed
his girlfriend.
He purred, one

more date.
I said,

no.

Betsy Was a Good Old Sport

Styled like a T Bird.
She really purred in third.
By listening to the engine
you did shift.
Ahe was sleek and styling
if you get my drift.
Her body golden cream,
the roof black.
It's the one with the roof
that slants slightly back.
Pop shifting soon became
my speciality.
I just loved my
1964 Super Sport Chevy.

My Sweet Lucky

I lost her on my birthday
While in my hospital bed
My sister put her to rest
My final goodbye left unsaid.

I still cry tears whenever
I view all the empty space
She purred daily at my side
Cuddled nightly in my place.

In time the loneliness will heal
The empty space within my soul
Will fill with sweet memories
And my heart will again be whole.

Covid-19 Post Mortems

A quarantine patient on ice
Was sharing his space with some mice
When they nailed down a roof
All the mice were aloof
A safe place to dine is so nice!

His wife had an horror of rats
The mere thought of tombs drove her bats*
From the fires below
A voice purred, "Hello!
We welcome all wild pussycats!"

* COVID-19 shares 96% of its DNA with bats

Fur Ball

Whiskers tickle my face
Brilliant orbs gaze up at me
Reflection of my soul

Purity fluffed in fur
Love melody purred
Innocent creature

Compassion of this companion
My love for it as if my child
Its bliss reciprocated

Cuddled in bed
Sprawled upon my lap
My little shadow

My light in the dark
Comfort in the cold
Orange, furry, and fat
I truly love this cat

My First

Inexhaustible
Was what she was
She never tired
Nor seemed to slow

Perfectly tuned
Reaching manic speeds
She purred in my hands
When off we would go

Everyone salivated
As jealousy reared
Its ugly head
When she was with me

Damn the impudence
I had to stand back
As it was my car
Everyone did see

She was cherry red
White leather seats
57 Mustang
Boy, she rode sweet

Randall Jarell

His world ended there, by the road
While walking, he was struck by a car
After everything this, and this was the end
«Sleep, gentle man», the cats purred
«Sleep, good master», the dogs barked
«Sleep, you are one of us», the children shouted
«Sleep, you celestial navigator», the pilots said
Crowded out of the ignorant darkness
He opened the door silently, very silently
The door of great poets
sad

Premium Member Oo Kittens Offending Odor

Small meow I hear A smell coming underneath I see movement in the dark I saw the kitten The odor was offensive Wanted to pass out, didn’t She purred so slightly I picked her up to see her Then the smell nearly smacked me She stunk so, so bad I took her home to bathe her So she won’t offend again

Sylvester was about to abduct Tweety
But Gran pinched his cheeks and called him sweety.
She put him on her lap, he reluctantly purred
While he kept his beady eyes on that yellow bird.
He leapt from her lap as she started to snooze.
"Now's my moment! How could I lose?"
But he disrupted Grans sleep when his face hit the mat.
Tweety exclaimed, "I saw a naughty cat!"

Exotic Cuisine

He said he loved of the Mickey,
as he pointed at my friend's faded T-shirt
The native Cantonese man purred,
and said it was his favorite exotic cuisine
Belly, tail and ears
were a most finger licking thing
An acquired taste,
not recommended for the squeamish
The smiling man with the balding hair,
said he squeals with delight
when he takes the first bite
of his favorite American Disney fare
