Get Going
Hiding in comfort
Out of fear you might stumble,
Have you forgotten
The first steps are the hardest,
Hence they will be your proudest...

My Stand
Before me, concerned eyes stand.
Perhaps you’ll someday understand.
You say my “bye-bye” sounds bland.
Proudest of fathers, wish I could stand.
Watching you grow has been grand.
Please just hold my dying hand.
Don’t forget to pay the band.
Before my eyes shadows stand....

Profound Observations
Stately totems of the proudest tribe,
not as sleek as the evergreen pine...
the blood of the Sioux flows,
the carnage is a terrible loss.

Corps sprawled as harvested corn husks
that grew on prairies beneath huge rocks....
hear the wailing of violated women,
and the loud cry of hungry children....

Premium Member Second Chance
He knew he messed up bad
Far from his proudest moment
Decisions needed to be made
It was time to grow up
Swore he’d make it up to her
If she would only forgive him
Promised she’d never regret
Giving him a second chance

Premium Member He Is Herding the Hens
Where is the new foreman I asked.
He’s down in the barn, herding the hens
I ran right down. Hens are quite a task.
He had brand new bib overalls; he fit right in

He’s a little young isn’t he? I asked my mom
You were younger, she quickly reminded me
The hens took to him like a hypnotic ‘om’.
I was the proudest parent I could ever be....

Premium Member Cherry Tree Butterflies
There was a cherry tree on our property Usually there would be butterflies in it The beautiful large red ones full of glory They flutter around just for my benefit They move so quietly up around the sky Sometimes they fly so very high, way up high Their proudest moments has to be in the tree Here motions are shown quickly, so very free

Mate
When you feel your pockets empty
and your stomach treats you cruel,
someone will read beyond your eyes
and see the proudest fool.

I met him somewhere in the past,
when he was passing through,
I can’t forget the act of faith,
and what someone chose to do.

Maybe someday the wheel will turn,
he'll be where I now be.
I'll be picking out a proud man’s face,
who once was fair to me....

Without Love
It would cloud the sun forever
in one instant the sea would dry
shift the axis of the earth
as a weak crystal
all of this would happen!
resulting in death
cover me with its funereal crepe
but you could never shut me
from the flame of your love...

Last night I dreamed
we were standing in cold grey weather
under the proudest stars
no escape from the ocean breeze
we looked beyond
as the pale moon put on a white cloth...

The Chair
Sat with his children on his lap
The proudest man alive
He thought he had the whole wide world
Right there by his side.

So soon all he had was lost
Before he had chance to moan
He found himself sitting in that chair
But this time all alone.

He looked round for his babies
They were nowhere to be seen
Only dust and fallen memories
Of where they once had been.

He still hears their laughter
Echo round the hall
He can’t believe how much he lost
He thought he had it all....
