Mole
Secret eyes popping
like hidden ears peeping
while silent words are seeping
from cunning mouths propping.

Poetic License Suspended

A string of poetic tales, about my life, my love and, my Lord...
Observations in scales, of mortal plight, once we chance, accord...
Imagination pales, and yet just might, share a glance, of more...
Propping powerful sails, from my short life, happenstance, galore!

Wheelchair Armistice
Self-crippled arrayed in abundance
Too poisonous to move, to dance
Striking a medicare deal
Reeling in unemployment checks
Our disabled bodies left to hang

From crippling blows
The pressure of expectation
Lynching sanity
Propping self-delusion on stilts

Searching for rights
The reason to exist
In a muddled play by play

Blessed are those in spirit
Accepting power over their destiny
Accepting free will
And the test of time...

Eyes reflect a fireplace glowing,
Moonlight has its luring say.
Wrest the cork, the wine is flowing,
Laughter eases care away.

Glasses clink through frosted windows.
Reminisce when first they meet.
Face to face on propping elbows,
Whispers pillows ever keep.

Passion molds a cryptic sculpture
Shaped without a reason why.
Love creates a mystic culture,
Words attempt but can't define.

Propping up their drooping
Posture on dizzy stools,
Parched lips overly pleased,
Pockets drained of money,
Prisoners of excess
Pander to last resort:
Phew! Pop goes the weasel.*

[*An expression describing the spending of all your money on drink
in the pub and subsequently pawning your suit to raise some more.]

Remembering the Hothouse
          for our daughters

Wind skids on curves of trees,
immured in ice, seeds sleep.
Inside, I shiver.
Then, from bean fields of the mind,
coiling on propping studs of flesh
ascends the blossoming hope;
and I know that pregnant Sal,
smoothed with cocoa cream
sails snoring into birth.
Her waters warm, protect, and part:
the cargo singing in her crib
melts the chill
when wind skins bark and bones
and every other year
the chorus grows....
