Focus
Your mind overwhelmed
The movie projector stops
Sounds melt into one
Focusing on what's ahead
In the zone is where you're at...

Memories
Night dark and dreadful
Emotions in black and white
Tears blinded my eyes
Flickering celluloid film
Whirling projector my mind...

The Theatre
what he does not know
is that she sighs
for me to hear
what his hands are doing to her

in the dark
two chairs away

what she does not know
is that if she were with me
her desire would rattle the projector
without my hands having left the popcorn bag...

Watching the Flickers
A lifetime plays out
as you watch a movie screen,
or hang around in the foyer,
waiting for the right movie to start.

Then you realize you have always been
the only projector in town.

The cinema has changed over the years,
yet still, it was always your light
on the screen.

One day you ask yourself:

Just where have I been?...

Slow Motion
David J Walker

I have slowed the motion
Of old film from the past

Watching frame by frame
The changes
As they came

The slight nuance of
The passing time in
Flickering light to
The silver screen

And what I might have
never seen
Even in a closeup at
Full speed

Was that me
In the eye of the
Projector?...

Projector of Memories
passing by each other
pretending not to stare
when actually all I see is your face
and your hand holding her hand

remembering those times you only looked at me
and when we argued playfully
we'd hold each other gently
whispering so only we could hear

thats done and over
now time has passed
but in the back of our minds
its still that projector of memories....

Federal Recreationalization of Marijuana
Open the flood gates of creativity
Human ingenuity enhanced by natural selection
Plants and herbs by all effective means
Affecting consciousness as the projector screen

Our thoughts but suave pendulum circles
Made evident from chambers of visible language
Emotional doors unleash the soul
Unrestricted imagination, intuitive belief

There's a reason why
Plants and people evolved together...

You'Re a Projector
Project again
Tell me all the things that are wrong with me
Tell me how I’ve let you down
How I can’t offer what you want
Whenever the world turns on you
I’m the one you turn to
Whenever you’ve driven
Your family and friends away
I’ve always been the one to stay
Whenever the venom was turned on me
I endured, for us
I’ve stood by through bad and good
In days of laughter and days of baseless accusations
I have been there for you...

Silhouettes
I'm seeing shadows move across the room,
I'm seeing things that aren't there and things that will never be.
I'm watching our memories flash across the room like a projector.
I sit silent watching your hands caress my face,
I begin to write and your shadow starts to fade..
Then i write and write and continue writing until everything's on paper.
Until there's nothing left to watch dance across the walls,
like silhouttes in the mooonlight....

Form: I do not know?
The Projector
feel what s/he knows is
what is really happening,
uses the word “believe”
as if s/he needed it to
breathe,
throws out her/his labels
on others in a manner of
nonchalance, letting the
chips fall where they may &
running when the game
doesn’t turn out just like
s/he planned---
but
ooh, how the projector
feeds on success in
prediction,
for each time s/he’s right
about something or
someone, her/his ego
grows,
revealing the deepest of
insecurities
bubbling up from
within....

Captured in the Eye of the Camera
David J Walker

The motion of the
Frame to frame
Picture
Remains intact
Restored in the
Latest media
Two toddler girls
Holding hands and
Walking
Side by side
On the sidewalk
Captured
In the beginning
Of a journey
Together
The sequence recorded
In my head
The sound of the
16 MM projector
Amplified in my memory
The smell of the
Burning dust on the bulb
Brings you back to
The life captured in the
Eye of the Camera...
