There we're 3 in this marriage

From the start

A future king in waiting

The people's princess

And the tabloid paparazzi press

But in the end

5 if you count the 2 young boy's

Prince's William and Harry

A royal flush

Minus the queen...

According to Princess Diana, who exposed the worst of tales,
And Duchess Camilla will become a queen … if nothing else fails....

Her iconic smile in repose,

              she shied from the camera's flash.
 

But Shylock's pound of flesh

               prized by paparazzi,


was paid by Princess Diana...

              her bloody crash, fueled by cash.

Thus, she is eighty years old, but always drawn as much younger
Super powerful, taking on villains in a fashionable way

We recognize those legs and the high red boots
She has a magic lasso that holds the bad guys in place
On November 7th, 1975 she became a three-dimensional hero
You might know her as Wonder Woman...

Some people will believe what they want
That the Americans never landed on the moon

And the Royal Family murdered Princess Diana
There is no such thing as global warming

The earth is flat and doesn't spin around the sun
Or the earth is hollow and there are monsters inside

So even if the evidence is presented to them down pat
They won't believe it and continue to argue their point.

to turn baby boomers heads.
A musical icon shills a new car.
Let me stand next to your fire.

Nothing sacred in the consumer world.
Those who once thought you a joke
use your songs to invoke what is left 
of a generations youthful fire.

I can see the Mother Teresa 
Depends commercial on the horizon,
and the Princess Diana, brakes.
Jimi, you're lucky it wasn't charcoal.
Let me stand next to your fire....

I remember when I heard -
The awful total shock.
It's those iconic moments
That your mind can never block.

The news clips of the wedding
And her royal obligations;
The flowers at the palace
And the grievers of all nations.

The funeral, reminding me
Of that of JFK,
Both with children, young and fragile,
Crushed beneath the public sway.

Now it's 20 years behind us
But the story will not fade,
For the life of any princess
Doesn't match how it's portrayed....

the wider the eyes
