Megaliths Of Africa

The Nabta Playa
Stonehedges of the old age
Migrants of passage
Brave pilgrims of the unknown
Lost paradigms of the blown

Blooms

pale petals of pink
summer roses, chatter worthy
Pilgrims under sun

I Didn'T Travel Far and Long

This lavish table
is ready for a big feast;
I'm not dressed in black,
Pilgrims expressed their true faith:
I didn't travel far and long!

Thanksgiving

The Pilgrims were woefully thinner
But learned what to eat from a sinner
In thanks for their living
They held a Thanksgiving
And ate Wampanoag for dinner

Forerunner Of The Sun By William Cowper

Forerunner Of The Sun,
                        It Marks The Pilgrims Way;

I'll Gaze Upon It While I Run,
And Watch The Rising, .... Day!

Noble Pilgrims

Christians
   are one as Christ's,
nursing the souls we find,
the blind, the lame, the weak, the poor
never keeping score; we adore
         Noble Pilgrims

Thanksgiving Leftovers

There once was a gobbler named Tom,
Who thought himself quite the fowl homme,
Though hens thought him a cad,
Pilgrims thought he was rad,
Especially stuffed, roasted and basted...nom, Nom NOM!!

Flat Earth Society

Exoplanets are planets beyond our solar system Whoa, my mind is blown, I'm still a flat-earth victim Earth is flat as we allege Watch you don't fall off the edge It's so bloody obvious, what's the matter with you pilgrims

Sherpa Dreams

Cliff edge narrows, steps in place
 danger looming strong
Height above me terror laced
searching right from wrong
Summit beckons, flag to place
and leave my name among
Flocks of pilgrims reaching grace
—to finally belong

In the Wind

God created distance,
so the wounded could go home

The searchers and the dreamers,
the ones born bound to roam

He then laid down the open plain,
below a towering sky

And set his voice into the wind
—for pilgrims such as I

Pilgrims To This World

What are we, my friends,

But

Pilgrims to this ephemeral world of

Fleeting dreams

Where

No matter what we:

Think

Do, or

Say,

Pilgrims to the end of our sojourn

We, certainly, shall stay!

Temples of Angkor Wat

sari of morn floats

draping temples with orchids,

as Angkor Wat blows its mist

to flame coned incense;

and in the still of homage

pilgrims wander with their gods.

The Deep-Rooted-Tree

It never falls never drys, greens forever
Whenever it extends,it grows moreover
Our love is like that tree, greens forever
On the deep rooted tree, friends forever
Each bird sings fruitly ,And sends clever
Each leave drops water and rains lever
We runabout as pilgrims every year

Soul Glistens

Soul glistens, in our heart aglow Tip toe there in silence Holy Spirit, the cosmic flow Rekindles innocence Love at play now, within For pilgrims free from sin Hark heart call; go therein Pulse quickens Soul glistens 20-January-2022 Quietus

Heavens Bliss

I often dreamed of the lofty place
Where my wandering soul would rest in grace
Where peace like a long lost friend
Would lie upon my wasted breast
And the smile of an innocent child
Carved deep into my wearied face
Thus earth be gone and heavens bliss await
All the pilgrims at the gate

Crossed Frontier

Borderland of friendly people,
new land vast to cross,
inviting with its beauty -
enticing.

Visited by Pilgrims -
persecuted men
of new religions
in their countries of origin.

They bonded with indigenous people,
who helped them to survive
and to cross frontier
between two oceans.

Spell

The spell should break quickly now,
and all will become distant,
like birth....
in the throes of labor,
as the tentacle grip
that has
held me
in the clutches of this moving terrain,
releases,
void of memory,
and I march on,
Pilgrims torch in hand,
held high.....
greeting the sapphire sky.

Holi Holi

How I wish I was there.
On that sacred festival ground.
Laughing beneath the clouds of
Indigo, saffron,white and green.

Holy pilgrims in magestic places.
Often smiles upon their faces.
Long to return to be covered in
Indigo, saffron, white and green.

Inspired by and especially for Manmath Dalei.

Four the Love of God

four things that happened
that day that we fell in love:
the four doors opened

forty days at sea
ended and sailors saw land
four hundred children

cracked four thousand smiles
for forty thousand pilgrims
trekked four million miles

for a chance to be
near the God that made that day
that we fell in love

To Nirvana

Incense mingled with sweet smelling flowers...
Gentle chanting cuts through the lapping rain.
Little oil lamps, light the gentle face of Buddha...
His white clad pilgrims, with eyes closed and hands clasped,
Listen to the monk's sermon.
Their gentle walk, light to the mind and soul...
As they observe the way to Nirvana.

Tomorrow's Child

Can a dreamer
be bigger
than the dream itself
a source of hope and pride

Can believers
be stronger
than love or hate
when circumstance denies

Can pilgrims
make choices
to keep the faith
when stranded in the wild

Can orphans
adopted
embrace a name
— that births tomorrow’s child

Thanksgiving

Everyone is gathered here today
To feast
Celebrate the Pilgrims
The Native Americans helped them out
Of course the story depends on which history books you read
I would reccomend "Red, White and Black"
History is where it's at if you want perspective
My old history professer could read Chinese and Japanese
Good for him!

Faithful In My Fashion (August 2, 1937, Lewisham Cemetery, Se London)

I dreamed I saw the grave of Ernest Dowson
Bleakly set
In some forgotten churchyard corner,
Lone and wet.

The spectral London fog descended cold on
Sentry grass
Where seldom any visitors or pilgrims
Deign to pass.

And in my reverie I bravely scattered
Roses there,
And felt a frail and wispy “Thank you”
Warm the air.

Zero Gravity

A wasteful effort
In the waste;
A retired General
Is smiling to his public;
A lover gets rid of
His expensive flowers;
The moon is looking
For adoption
By the old sun;
Pilgrims
Are curious;
I am tiding up
My feet
With a robust trusted cord;
My legs are above my head now
I am attempting my last yoga suicide.
