Paula’s partying parrot paraded pridefully past Pete
Particularly poised Petunia pranced persimmon sweet.
Pete preferred Paul’s personality, plowing past Petunia’s pail.
Quizzable questionable quandary quickly confusing quibbling quail.
Por Que Pig asked why Jews do not pigs buy
Petunia answered him with a deep sigh
It’s because we aren’t kosher
Then, losing her composure
If Jesus Christ were only a rabbi...
P-Pertty pink or purple flowers,
E-Enrich the patio they hang from.
T-Teanquilize the space they occupy.
U-Unadulterated by outside chaos.
N-Nesting their glory inside each basket.
I-Illuminating space with effortless beauty.
A-Acclaiming praises to the God of life.

Don't ever despair,my Petunia
Or give up,precious Lily.
Never forget,my Carnation
I'm thinking of you,my Pansy
You have my devotion,Honeysuckle.
My heartfelt love always,Myrtle
With sincere regards my Daffodils-
Forever...my floral friends.

Peculiar Petunia was very strange indeed,
I mean how many six-year-olds would choose to wear tweed?
On the first day of school, in an effort to impress,
Petunia chose a hand-woven olive green dress,
The other little girls wore lace in pink and red,
But Petunia knew the value of a harder-wearing thread

Waiting for your wishes on gossamer wings,
To come miraculously true.
Waiting to find a petunia that sings,
Will only disappoint you.
Turn your hopes to what life brings,
And dream those dreams anew.

Morning tumbles into my arms,
I give a gentle hug,
Smooth down
Her long gauzy dress,
Run my fingers through her rays
And braid sweet pea tendrils in blond pigtails.
Lifting up her quivering chin
I gaze into sapphire eyes,
Drawl encouraging morning words:
“Good” and “glory”,
“Dove”,
And she embraces the petunia day.
"...there rests a pensive petunia, breathing, but sleep-waltzing..." ~ Ink Empress (not the author of this poem, but the inspiration)
When awake, I never dance -
nor would I, given the chance.
My earthly job is to account,
arriving at the right amount.
Yet, violins help me count sheep,
and I go waltzing in my sleep.

My eye is quickly seized by a gorgeous glimmer of purple; I walk over to take a better look. The renegade petunias have arrived to announce the imminent arrival of summer. They are supposed to be annuals, but no one has told them, so here they are, magically showing summer the way.
purple petunia
vibrant and beautiful
spring into summer
I've got a pet Petunia
You know what I mean
When I'm chill I pet my pet Petunia
And it gives me a roar
It's been appreciated from time to time from others
Pretty likeable to me
As it gets wet and juicy
It likes hearing wet and juicy gossip
It may have cobwebs growing cross ways
But someone will come along and give it a good sweep
Lol
struggle
and breath
talk
exhale
and walk
and I look upon the light that surrounds me
I remember a different time in blue
The leaves are falling
I couldn't bear to take the dead petunia plant
warm one day
cold the next
call for rain
some times
Some day we will know why the sky is blue
I was meant for you
two yellow petunias
for winter time
Form:
I deep-sixed toys, games, a bed and a picture book
Our font porch now has a much more organized look
In May I kept hundreds of junk I did not need
Crayolas, pinwheels, and blue petunia seed
Weirdly thinking I might someday need this or that
bent clarinet, torn photo and stuffed bat
knife broken in two, huge bag of red clover
a lesson this hoarder learns over and over
With no one hereabout
As above streetlight shone
“Hello beautiful”
Endurance rules you flout
Daintily peeping out
Flourishing with aplomb
By each gainful degree
Amid detritus flows
Purple petunia grows
If only all could see
Limpet tenacity
Hidden in the shadows
Survival rates are slim
In mind you never dim

Though you are but a stranger to me, I offer you a kiss.
And though I’ve never met you, I know you and what you’re searching.
Look tenderly at me, and you will find it.
It is in me what you, stranger, yearn for most.
I’ll quench your thirst, I’ll satisfy your craving.
For in that great smelter that forged your feet and eyes, was forged the small seed that gave me life.
We’re brethren, stranger. I am you.
radiant spectrum
what is this flying wonder
attention captured
a chrysalis yesterday
now winged creature emerges
“my pollen’s sweetest,”
petunia attempts to lure
throughout the garden
blossoms seek her brief visits
the butterfly flutters by
to her fans, she bows
bestows butterfly kisses
captivating all
beauty flies, accepts applause
enjoying admiration
