There once was a man from somewhere
Who had trouble with his nose hair
So he gave them a perm
With a wiggle and squirm
And won second prize at the fair...

      i had my thumb
       under her chin
   and my palm on her
             throat
            the rest
    mine duke's digits
      wrap hern neck
     'neath her perm
              and

Enchantment of Nothing
Whisper so loudly,
And sing, softly.
Out of the darkness,
No evils will access.
Into the daylight,
So there’s no fright.
Alongside a moment,
Dreams do ferment.
Bright shiny world,
And Perm-twirled.
Die now with shame,
Blame is the game.
Hope fell from the sky,
So don’t question why.
You don’t feel this pain,
Alongside evil you rein....

She is uncomfortable
Thinking they are all staring at her
She can barely look up

They are twelve and thirteen
Most not noticing her at all
Too concerned about their own flaws

One thinks they are staring at his zit
Another is sure they are staring at her frizzy perm
Most self conscious age of all

Middle school dance
Critical beyond belief
Misunderstanding the beauty of this age...

I can have short hair
Or I can have long.
I can color it or perm it
Nothing is wrong.
I comb it and brush it
It is soft as silk.
Sometimes I even
Wash it in milk.
I blow it dry
And curl it with heat.
To go to the hairdresser
Is such a treat.
Blonde or brown
Red or black.
My hair is thick
Flowing down my back.
Highlights and lowlights
Purple or blue.
What should I try
What will I do?...

If
If I had a flat chest I'd buy some fake boobs,
If I had a pale face, I'd put on some rouge.
If my hair was limp and flat, I'd get a perm or buy a hat.
If my clothes were all wrinkled, ragged and tore,
I'd start a new fad or buy me some moe.
If I need to be pretty, and that I do,
I'd find me a man who cares like you.
You dress me so beautiful, and help me look great ,
And what thanks do I give, except being late?...
