Know Thy Place

The defining thing about peppering
Your favorite child with all your affection
Is that your other children
Will always know
There place

Dark curtain, falls upon landscapes visage; dews saliva’s soft, peppering down upon freshly planted garden seeds; tiny hair like roots digging deep, searching for nutrients in the soil; finding food and drink, the party begins.

A Snowman on a Snow Job

Peppering down, like too much salt,
the world's grounds are draped with deliberate deception.

All
"snow"men
now and then
overwhelm us.
"Will warm, wet weather
motivate more meltdown?"
Answer is axiomatic -
"Nature's non-negotiable."

(Axiomatic - self evident)

Premium Member In a Sullen Graveyard

In sullen graveyard of souls a heavy mist peppering down, across granite tombstones; here lie centuries, stories, that only the listening soul may hear and reveal in numerous ways and in its revelations, improve us; the soul has powers beyond our finite minds.

In Denial

I am supposed to be writing
Poems for thank you cards,
And memory jars,
And collecting money
For presents and food
Before the party starts.
But I find myself hesitant,
Scribbling nonsense, peppering edges
Of the sheet with tiny stars.
Yet starting tomorrow
It would seem more real
And maybe dim this denying trance.

January Night

peppering my skin
ice shivers off swirling wind
sucking my warm breath away
tiny pointed star
snowflakes fill the dark night sky
lighted windows shine welcome

skin tingles in warm
air close to burning brick hearth
cheeks red as autumn apples
pecking on windows
the raging storm begs entrance
I draw the curtains tighter

golden chestnut browns sparkling against natures reds and yellows
oaks, maples, sycamores, pregnant with autumn leaves
mammoth round topped giants peppering the countryside
climbed maybe in our youth, but many limbs are way up high

new hampshire is a showcase of beauty in october
before her mountains lose their variegated spotted leaves
walnuts, acorns and almonds are falling now
into the open paws of excited happy squirrels

                                   Peppering the meadow
Wild and free along the roadside
Keeping the secrets of poison ivy
                                 She is mysteriously wise
                                  Twinkling and glittering
                                        Her white magic
