Summer
Sunshine draws the people out
Umbrellas dot the beach
Music fills the air
Memories made here last a lifetime
Every face wears a smile
Relaxation is the order of the day...

Life
A place fills with uncertainty
light and hope disappear
Freedom of speech is luxury
Agony is the order of the day

At last! Came the sun
That brightens everyone’s day
To whom do we deserve this?
Praises and thanksgiving is all we give.....

'all the King's Horses'
Logic destroys the natural state,
as order rules the day

To tag and label, weigh and chart,
reality at bay

A poet in the truest sense,
I fall outside the lines

Entropic freedom calling me
—to all that I might find

(Rosemont College: August, 2020)...

There’s a moment
   sad in a way
but happiness is
  the order of the day

There’s a moment
  when mom and dad
are no longer gods, though
  we’re not yet comrades…

There’s a moment when
yes, we’re glad in a sense, but
with all our foibles and flaws exposed ~
you and I, mom, our little lambs have deposed...

Being
Do what you love
and love what you do

Search the depths within
and pull out the authentic you

Dreaming is the order of the day
Masquerading is futile causing one to waste away

Wasting is lame and lame I am not
Being is seeing, thinking, feeling, and remembering what I forgot

Tomorrow, I'll BE

Today, I'm BEING...

The Queen Turns 90
Happy Birthday to the Queen!
A royal celebration
Will be the order of the day
Within the British nation.

From fireworks and gun salutes
To Parliamentary praise,
Her subjects will commemorate
With glorious displays.

As for the Queen, she’ll take a walk
Then spend the day at home
Paying just as much attention
To the hoopla as this poem....

Steampunk Tinkerbelle has the confidence of a dozen
She sets the tone of the school and her neighborhood
She has attracted many fans and followers.
Demure is now out
Dainty is unpopular
Delighting in yourself is the order of the day
She has set the pace
We are all running to catch up
Enjoying her greatly
Hoping to exude a bit of vitality and vim ourselves....

Millenium Eve - Waking Up In Avalon
Somehow it seems sacriligious
To impose
A day's order on a day like this.
The space between sleeping night
and waking day stretches elastic
as if I occupy a hole in time.
Others pass by
and disappear,
but the mist lies magic below
promising a day of enchanted delights.

Today
or tomorrow
I shall wake up
in Avalon

The Return
If I ever lose my faith in you
there will be
nothing left for me to do
all of these bridges
that I burned
by my selfish pride
I will make my mark
by mending a broken heart
I will remind myself
that is not too late
to shoot for the stars
regardless of who I am
I’ll be in a suitcase
and reaching for the sky…
by all means a good return
will be the order of the day...

Darkness In Orlando
From what I see on television
Darkness has descended on Orlando
Death cries filled the air
Sorrow became the order of the day
We don't yet know
If it was a "lone wolf "
or a terrorist plot
We must mourn
for the deaths of those who were
only thinking
of seeking some weekend enjoyment
Our land has once more felt the sting
of a murderer
Now - LET THE HEALING BEGIN...

Sorry.
I guess an apology,
is the order of the day,
too many words, written,
taken the wrong way.
The beauty of poetry,
is you can, say how
you feel.
It may seem right at
the time, when emotions,
are high.
having calmed down,
I ask my self why.
I am hot blooded, let
my words fly,
but I swear I wouldn't,
hurt a fly.
This is the only way I know.
to say sorry ,
for hurting you so.
Sorry,
for you,
you, know!...

Call It What You Want, Its Still True
I want to live to become
The kind of person I needed when I was young.
Inspiring, affirming and solidifying solutions to the moral dilemmas
of the inflicted youth of this era.

Drugs,liquor and poverty, teenage pregnancies
HIV ,STDs, cimininal activity, inhospitality,inequality.
Obstacles to humanity
are the order of the day in society
Just check in on your family tree
It might have skipped a generation or 2 or even 3...

Luck
If luck was commodity
Secrets will be the order of the day
Some born-
-Some dying with their keepers,
Making life elusive,
Ruled and dominated by tension,
When searching and fighting over secrets
Imagine if everything was painted with secrets;
But,
Since luck is unfathomable,
Life is also painted in that fashion
Strange things everyday,
Putting everyone on the alert
While waiting impatiently
To be the first to know...

So Words Become
So words become; the order of the day
and order of the day becomes
the soldiered meaning of all work and play,
the ever present, beating drums.

Then words become; the lure of the lie
and liars lure every son
with shadows of gold 'til they all but die,
to retire, to be, to be done.

And then, once again; the words become
the order of every day
to sleep, to awake, to be dead and done,
'til all words fly, ever away.

This Empire of Stone
Gone are the days when gold shine filled the air.

Peace and love were the order of the day.

The fiend of darkness is lost in his dark kingdom.

He gyrates with pitiful madness and scowling eyes.

This empire of stone and blessed land of our birth.

Teaches a man how to live and shine amidst the stars.

So look not to the ground when virtue takes to the sky.

There joy can be found that needs not of pretty things!

Premium Member The Hounds of Hell
Summer’s almost over - that convalescent state
where successive modes of pleasure
were the order of the day.
Now fall commands awakening -
drive simplicity away! The hounds
of hell are yelping that it’s time to banish play.
They cry “forget unscheduled hours
that owned no share of care - the virtual halls
are scheduled and we’ll soon see you there.”
No apotropaic magic can delay my slated fate -
to pixelated halls of learning I must soon acclimate....

Choices

The choices we make
for ourselves,
often if nearly always
effect others.

The milkman is late,
breakfast is later,
the kids are
barely going to make it
to school.

The wife is sad,
the husband is mad,
and life goes on.

It is... no one's fault,
that things happen,
in the manner,
and order of the day.
Simply pray.

Stay focused,
and know,
that a smile lasts a while,
and a pout makes people
only want to shout....

Standing There
Standing there, on the plain
gathered with the crowd
for they came to see him
today they were not proud

Vexation of the spirit
the order of the day
casting unclean spirits
in hell where they would stay

All seeking to touch him
knowing he could save
virtue flowing out from him
wave after wave

His eyes uplifted
his disciples to see
speaking these words
that would set them free

Blessed be the poor
those without power
blessed are you that hunger
for you shall be fed this hour....

Movers and Shakers
Echoes of their squalling,
finally interferes with my slumber.

Opening my eyes,
to see the pensive faces of the ladened.

And my ears,
to the ear-splitting shrill of the piteous.

Showing me their greatest fears,
Slowing becoming reality before their eyes.

I have seen for myself,
brothers smothering one another.

As a new era seeks recognition,
Iniquity impetuously taking its position.

Tardily becoming the order of the day.
Shortly to be a disease we cannot contain....
