Coming and going
Just becoming
Meeting and telling
Seeds fine selling
Opting and shifting
Such odd playing
Knowing and sensing
New beginnings
Greeting and leaving
Fate in being

Otters
Obscure sea mammals found
off the Pacific coast,
opting for kelp forest
on California's cold
ocean waters, amongst
other marine life that
once faced near extinction.

Mindful eye, distils attention
Opting for love delight
Drawing in by resonation
Boundless bliss, day and night
Within dreams we create
Images not quite sedate
Time then to contemplate
Lust decry
Mindful eye

Being Taciturn
(TASS-uh-tern)
By: Miracle Man
8/29/2018
She’s often outwardly taciturn in a group setting,
Opting to be inconspicuous, “Like a fly on the wall.”
Being attentive to others while mentally vetting,
Often, her shorthand is chosen method of scrawl.
People lashing out,
People cashing out,
People looking out,
People booking out,
People wearing out,
People staying out,
People growing out,
People freaking out,
People shouting out,
People rubbing out,
People knocking out,
People shopping out,
People shooting out,
People opting out.
Time running out.
Time marches on relentlessly
Ordered plans fruitless
Being alive takes effort
Every breath a bonus
Overcoming adversity
Realizing dreams
Never giving in
Opting just to be
Time the great leveler
Taking life to another plane
Or maybe just giving in
Being is to just be alive
Even when it is not to be
Analogy of Life
Faults of
life, might be,
for
opting some analogy;
Humans earn or
inscribe poem,
or write an ode and earn,
with or lacking a logic,
and similitude;
But all manifest in
void and
life becomes a finding,
humans, the modules
and our analogy –
become elements
to instigate the poison
to irrationalize the self.
Listen to poem:
a buffer between the you and the me
the constant mediator chaperoning
criticizing with its glare and pursed lips
negating the realm of possibilities
as it downplays the fragranced essence of hinting
opting to zero in on the desolation of nothingness
and that buffer between you and me
only grows stronger and louder

What is stillness
Carefree playfulness
A flow of joy
Devoid of narrow ploy
We are & be
Ecstatic in continuity
Spontaneous
Each moment fortuitous
Aspect allowing
Blissfully free flowing
To our elation
Thought an interruption
Which we rest
Without caring to test
Having sired
But finally weary & tired
Of contraction
Opting now for expansion
Of our heart

for the terrifying first time,
strange, humbling feeling,
catches himself imploring,
praying almost, to the One
he has been longing to know,
but, in all honesty, just cannot;
he now pleads for blessings
of ignorance and forgetting,
opting to take a scary step
for which all, all the walking
in his life has successfully
failed to properly prepare him:
... to beg, "teach me to pray."
That which does me distinguish
I cannot just relinquish
Before Cameras “Slender”
Why would I change My Gender?
All along An Insider,
My name Wilder, not Spider …
Does one seek identity
Making one Non-Entity;
Face to face with things The Right
And still opting for The Tight:
Hitherto not a Villain
Why now to it a steely chain?
The wind does not skirt billow
With Girl’s head on a pillow.
Enamored with desire
Genuine tug she felt
Cuddling sensual love
Till knock on the door
Startled her vision.
Reluctantly she awoke
Knowing why he came
As familiar vibrations
Announced his name
Sounding a warning
When harmony faltered
As the songbird missed
Its rhythm on purpose
Alerting her sanctity
To resume her dream
Opting veritable fantasy
Over spurious reality.

In the quiet of the night,
Are the most restless hours
I feel the shadows upon me,
They watch over me like towers
I hear many times to never regret,
Yet I feel this way out of fright
It consumes my body, mind and soul,
I soon lose my sense of sight
If I had known that this was destiny,
I would have selected another path
Opting to run and look back rarely,
For I might find sin and wrath
Form:
We don't tend
to remember
that our
words carry weight;
opting to forget
just how much
damage
we can do,
to a
fledgling heart
hesitant
to take wing and fly;
weighed down by the leaden
words
anger, chose to fling.
Poised at a point, that stands apart from space-time,
all that is, is energy before release,
when awareness self-aware then heeds love's chime,
opting to bilocate with nonchalant ease,
that its diminished self may heavenward climb,
after exiting trance; ego spawned disease.
Thus, first one becomes two, then two becomes one,
reuniting with source, when we come undone.

gardens supreme grudgingly hesitate,
almost opting to break the rules,
before sending lovenets to capture
choice glimmers of Shirley's smile
they would, most certainly, prefer
every spark, the full vibrancy,
but even for them it is not permitted
to interfere further with such a lovely dream;
this dearest testament of righteousness
but some brilliant mementos
they had to have
the stars would allow it,
they knew

It is relentlessly our intent
To do the right thing.
Why then do we relent—
A bird with broken wing?
We make earnest pledges
Vowing to fly higher.
But they fray at the edges—
Caught in self-made mire.
We would strive to be
A friend of welcoming ways.
Except they quickly flee—
Gliding through wasted days.
We pray for a resolution
To these earth-bound misses.
But we forestall a solution—
Opting for self-inflicted hisses.
Remember ending the old and new a beginning
Everything in our lives has a purpose to serve
So as we face the coming of yet another year
Opting to remove which no longer serves us
Life can get in the way of well meant plans
Until we are absolute steadfast to fulfil them
Then the toughest options are easily broken
It can become disheartening to be a failure
Only you can make all those clear choices
Never give up on your dreams they can happen
If we be complete,
bliss drenched, head to feet,
why then do we choose,
to betray our muse?
From heaven to earth,
opting for rebirth,
to replay refrains,
that heart love ingrains.
Life’s a dream of course,
yet we feel remorse,
so descend to feel
hurts that we may heal.
An easier way,
is to sit and pray,
letting go of thought,
that’s ego begot.
Sans thought, ego dies,
soul flies to new highs
and as living light,
frolics in delight.
TOXIC STATE Double Acrostic
Troubling terribly
Opting to overcome.
X-axis and Y-axis of mind distorted,
Indicating
Chaos or crazy connivance.
Stoically shattered sick
Totally turbulent.
Arid abusive
Tottering torpidity
Enraged erratic.

Toxic State Contest by FJ Thomas
Diction and syntax
syntax and diction
may as well
be science-fiction
searching for words
which have better meaning
poking and prodding
gleaning and screening,
and how should I arrange that phrase?
Format that phrase, how?
Ins and outs,
ups and downs,
this will NOT break me
I vow!
Opting for this,
vying for that,
sounding as silly as
the Cat in the Hat.
Syntax and diction
Diction and syntax
but now that it’s done,
I can sit back
and relax!
Geologist George
chose inscription to be etched
on stone of his tomb
'Here lies Earth scientist on
quest of under ground.'
Sincere researcher
wished to continue his work
even after death,
opting opportunity
to complete research undone.
His earnest desire
was to pursue his quest
in after life phase
on care free excavation
peacefully under soil.
Within the arms of the devil
Are men who made a choice
Opting where to live their days
Thereby losing soulful voice
Their backs had turned on goodness
Their faces faced away
With allegiance to the evil one
Their lives will now decay
But, waiting as a parent does
God waits for their return
To hold them in His warm embrace
Provided that they learn
He’ll wait forever, for us all
As He loves us ever true
Though we had turned our backs to Him
He shan’t do that to you
Opting to feel, rather than think,
sensing energy flow in form,
as a non-doer we receive
hues of bliss flavoured with love’s ink
and as we’re centred in this storm,
soul’s at peace when ego begs leave.
The simple shift from head to heart,
is really all that’s needed
for soul to transmute as God’s light,
causing bliss ignition to start,
that with will to Him conceded,
we see Him clearly in plain sight.
God calls to us, let us respond,
forging with love, a lifelong bond.
my best day has not come yet
She’s on the railroad track
I hear her clicking and clacking
I feel she has my back
She will impress me with her wisdom
She will grace me with a terrific twenty-four hours
Opting to bring me sunshine
or lovely rain for flowers
My best day is awaiting
a signal from the commander in chief
When she finally gets here
It might be a great relief
Maybe she came yesterday
Or even Wednesday last
I probably will not know
Until after she has passed.
