To Recollect

Burn in the cool sun,
Be a friend of the old moon
to recollect love

Old Moon Rises

In the dark sky
the old moon rises
moving very high
buying by the prices
the old moon buys
whatever it likes
THE OLD MOON RISES

Sledding times past
Linger into view
An adaptation,
A graduation,
Newness of goals foreseen,
"Two day old moon,
Tell of a journey's end,
Listen also if you May
I'll tell of odious ramblings..."

God Is Good-El

the old moon smiles from the sky
the leaves slowly dancing cry
golden fairies kiss the earth
springs of water, a new birth
I sat there and understood
God is loving, God is good
the old moon smiles from the sky

Old Moon Face

That illuminated dust ball,
dough faced;
a pie with no filling.
and it seems to have the scent
of a long dead romance.

On the porch my spayed
lays her head in my lap
ignoring the weak wolf calls
of an addled moon
and its piss-poor love songs.

Premium Member Appreciating Old Moon

Old moon was leaving; he said his goodbyes to creatures of the night.
Butterflies and moths felt sad, knowing they would now never see his light.
Luna moths decided to surprise him, and they turned brilliantly white.
To show their appreciation, letting retiring old moon see their bright.

Premium Member Full Moon On Halloween

October thirty-first you'll hear me howling at the moon,
but not as loudly as I bay when that old moon is full.
The next full moon on Halloween will be five years from now.*
This knowledge makes me want to weep and bellow like a bull!

In your eyes
Old moon sighs

In your gaze
Joy seeds daze

In your light
Things feel right

In your walk
Tact spreads talk

In your touch
Charm knows much

In your voice
Light lives poise

In your hope
Faith sculpts scope

In your mind
Heart feels kind

In your zest
Love floods quest

Late night
This old moon
Shines bright
In dark noon

Here I
Dream of ease
Gaze high
To feel peace

Cold breeze
Skims my face
Moist squeeze
In brief trace

Odd thoughts
Come to mind
Odd lots
In new finds

Night stars
Twinkle bright
On par
Stretch mood right

Old moon
Hints of feel
Night boon
Watch time heal

An Elegy For the Moon

These pebbles were
once a moon,
an old moon ,
Our moon .

 from
 the liquid sky
a new moon
In the heart
of a lily
 Sprouts

We will
all be gone
by the time
the new moon
 blossoms

It will shine
over different people
Men
 from the future

And we will
remain
Only in
 our ancestral marks

       that
we painted
 with red fruit
in our caves ,
In the broken ,
 downtrodden
Halls

The radiance of day withdrawn An old moon a lamp up high; A barn owl keeps still across the lawn While orioles decide to fly. Robins nestle for the night, Sky paints a deep shade of blue Even the gust falls with the light; So we shall take our rest too. Evening is a memory now Secure in calm of dawn all right… Lullabies are heard from each bough In the glow of silver white. Poem 202 Contest for Brian Strand 9/16/2016

Bamboo pines sway
Cold winds slide
Rain on the way
Moist air glides

Old moon gate arc
Cold breeze blows
Wet rain drops mark
Moist air glows

The sudden rush
Shelter sought
Rainy moods brush
Wet report

Rain can now fix
A wet form
Moisture can mix
Aqueous norms

Bamboo trees wet
Cold clear squeeze
Weather now sets
Cold cold breeze

By my window
See this show
Wet afterglow
Sleepy flow
