wild apples bore, 
eviscerate the cores,
and watermelon spit the pits
they cannot swallow.

this is a little place of quiet and somber
made of dreams i had as a child
it whispers in lonely memories 
and yells in angry echos
i find myself with prayers
to someone i'm not sure listens
then i stop
and adjust my attitude
oh ye of little faith
this Christian girl
and her deals with the devil
surely her god will make her atone
but i bargain and pray and try to think good thoughts
for a miracle
